Wanted: help us make some furniture out of skis

Reposting the craigslist ad that I posted, if anyones got a friend or dad that might be interested, let me know!

We're a small ski manufacturer located in SE Portland, and we need a carpenter/experienced furniture maker/craftsman/??? to help us make a few chairs or benches to donate to a ski charity (American Cancer Society, Hope on the Slopes). Heres the catch - we want them to be made out of skis. We have two or three dozen blem and broken skis here at our factory that are taking up space, and since they're made of bamboo, fiberglass and UHMW, they're certainly strong enough to do the trick. We're going to donate whatever is made to the charity for a fundraising auction, but if anyone is willing to help us out with some design or crafting, would be much appreciated, and goes towards a great cause. Might make a cool page in an artists portfolio as well. Got a few months to plan and we dont mind doing grunt work, so hopefully this will be a leisure project!

The guy is in eugene, seems like he builds super high end furniture but what the hell might be worth a try~

Wait don't you guys have a fully functional shop? Find a good example to work off of and get after it!

We're experienced ski builders, but none of us have any real furniture making skills... and this is out of a weird material, no plans, and I want it to look good so they can auction off a work of art, not a piece of crap.

But yeah, we do have all the tools (basically) that you would need, we just need some direction.

I hear ya

I remember this ski shop I visited in Idaho when I was like 5, and literally most of the store furniture was skis. Counter tops, shelfs, handrails, etc. It was crazy

A real genuine nice guy, and a master craftsmen with furniture. Hopefully he could help you guys out (either with directions or ideas) or refer you to another person closer to the neighborhood for hands on assistance.
