Quiver Killer question

Hey, if I have already mounted bindings on my skis (Head Mojo). Will I be able to take the bindings off and put quiver killers in the old holes?

Will the existing binding holes be too wide to put the inserts into? what about depth?

I know there should be a fair margin between the two: 3.5mm vs. 1/4" but I thought I would check to see it anyone has done this yet.

You just drill out the existing holes. The insert is wider than the screw.

All it really is, is a helicoil that is sealed to keep water out. Thats it.

I've used regular binding holes as pilots for all the Quiver Killers that I've installed. You'll be fine.

Assuming that the different mounting patterns don't conflict - could you put two set of quiver killers on the same ski. (IE- one set of QK's for my FKS and another set further back for dukes) ?

Thats a lot of holes drilled into the ski. A lot of big holes.

quite a few people have done this with no problems. Since the QK inserts are solid steel, its not just an empty hole in the ski.

Someone did the math in the other thread, installing QK's for two bindings on one ski is the equivalent of drilling for 6 mounts (I think).

I'm no expert, but I can't imagine that the ski would ski as intended with that much of the core taken out.

I am aware of this. It is literally exactly the same as a ski with a bunch of mounts on it. Those old holes aren't empty either, they have plugs in them. What ruins the ski is the sheer amount of wood that is missing from the core. It has nothing to do with what is in place of that wood.

I have done exactly this. FKS at suggested, small dukes -1cm, for 308mm BSL.

Ruins it I guess if you plan on mounting anything else on your pair. Judging the condition that even the most tender-to-their-gear skiers have their stuff in at the end of one season, you're probably not decreasing the resale value by much anyways.

As far as how the ski responds performance wise, I would be really surprised if you saw a difference, especially in skis over 100mm at the waist.

If you're set on having a dedicated pair of skis to tour and ride in resorts interchangeably, I think these would be something to really consider. They also kinda make sense for park skiers - you can have one set of bindings for your beater urbans, your thrashed rail skis AND your nice new set you got this year. Its added protection against binding pullouts as well, if you have a history of doing that, yet another reason for thinking about these. If you're going to ride your skis into oblivion by the end of the season from all the park you do, why not?

It does depend on the ski. 2 sets of inserts on an afterbang would make it explode, where as a katana or something similar would most likely be fine.
