I decided to have a little fun with my Smith Holt in the zebra colorway.
I wasn't too stoked on the goofy colorful triangles that came stamped on the side, so after last season I got creative with it.
I started off by using a VERY fine grit sand paper, 800 & 1500 to be exact, to remove the triangles on the side of the Holt. This is more of an fine abbrasive paper then coarse sandpaper. It's used in polishing the clear coat on a car when doing body work. I chose this to keep the scaring minimal on the plastic as well as to maintain the structural integrity of the abs shell.
One thing that's neat about the Zebra Holt is that you can remove the ABS shell from the foam because the shell is not riveted down. It is just slipped over. The zebra pattern is spandex that is just stretched over the foam shell.
So, I decided to do my design by painting the underside of the shell. That way if I were to take a spill, it would not damage the finish as it is only scratching the exterior.
The "SAGA" logo somewhat inspired me in my "HOLT" design. Tell me what you think. Sticker job is still in process...
The first picture shows the original helmet. The second picture shows it's true color of the logo the best. It's a deep purple.
