EYE TRIP...... a little dissapointed....

Listen. I swear by level 1. I have loved them for years for their soundtracks and cool vibe in the film.

But for me, i just dont know if it was the soundtrack (i have heard songs exactly like what was used in the soundtrack for eye trip) wasnt that good. Their werent any truly heady, electric songs that made you think "geez ive never heard a music like that before".  I think there was to much hip hop for my taste. Usually in a ski movie there is at least one song that blows my mind. In eye trip there wasnt.

And as far as the skiing... top notch.... but i feell like there was this vibe going on like the skiers just werent having as much fun anymore, sort of like they were bored of what they were doing.

If i could pick an exact opposite to eye trip, it would be jiberishes movie "right back where we started" The vibe in the jiberish movie was way cooler and way deeper than the vibe in eye trip.

in my view level one is a faster paced less emo version of msp. Focused and yearbook were epic for msp. Level 1 is still super edgy and out there in high five with ladytron, shanghai six with the fischerspooner remix of kylie minogue,  LSS with ladytron in the keystone shoot.

But the coolest thing about ski movies is epitomized in teddybear crisis and i think ski movies have drifted away from that.

There are tons of snowboard movies with the same perspective as tbc but i dont know why ski videos have gone downhill since 2005-2007, not in tricks but in overall aura.

scandinavian soundtracks are awesome in my opinion. cut copy was brought back to pks seg in a field movie that was cool. and cut copy was in tbc too so thats pretty ill.

are any videos from the alps really good? Is the rastafaride series with candide the best from those parks in the alps?

spark notes....  I think the recession is killing the vibe of modern vids... thats the only thing i can think of.

ill say liams song was pretty cool. most of the soundtrack was pretty stale. toms song killed his segment imo.

Im just trying to understand what is going on in this thread, it seems a little ridiculous. Yes, watching park rats ski to "Chip tha Ripper" and "Royce da 5'9" is a little outrageous and stupid all in all. Bring the hate. Also, MSP is emo? What do you even mean by that? This site never ceases to amaze me.

Chip the rip song was the hands down the best in the edit. It went so well with ahmets style and def helped him win segment of the yr, or whatever award he got.

SO TRUE.. exactly what was on my mind. Wasn't so stoked on it at IF3 but still bought it and after watching it a couple of time the movie is great. And now, 20 views after it's really dope..

the words "in my opinion" are going to be applicable to every single soundtrack from every single viewer. there will never be a movie where every person thinks that every song is dope, it's not possible. so i respect you having an opinion, but parading it the way you did (as well as going on a couple hard-to-follow tangents) was quasi-retarted.

hahahaha, i never defended the "hip-hop" in the movie homie, my favorite song was the florence + the machine remix. i thought that it was an eclectic sound track that was extremely well balanced. but i do commend your poor-researched attempt at back handed humor, you sound more and more like a derelict each time you post.

like what i mean by "right back where we started" having a message, its that skiing is becoming more like snowboarding because you can now be incredibly good at skiing and have absolutely no mainstream recognition. That is what snowboarding has been like for a while now. Also i liked how it brought skiing and snowboarding togethet in the beginning because snowboardimg was the true roots of the modern skiing movement, i remember when snowboarders were super stoked on ho skiiing was sort of catching snowboards culture drift. thanks eric pollard

i thought eye trip was unreal! they mixed every seg up with different moods and styles of skiing. the trick were ill. easily my favourite soundtrack out of all the movie this year. overall I loved it

Ok, this hasn't been mentioned (I don't think), but the song in Brogan and Downey's part was so damn "feel-good". I literally smiled when I saw Brogan's name pop up when the song was playing, it was just so bad ass for some reason. Kaya killed it to the song to. As for Parker and Logan, it was expected. All in all, super sick seggy.

I also really liked the Ozzy song in the jump segment. That was also extremely bad ass.

Refresh was retiredly good. I thought Eye Trip was of worse quality but still had a good track and as always sick skiing. Its hard to be truly disappointed with a ski movie when you think about it.
