Opening Day Discussion Time!!!!!

so who's skiied, who's waiting for the snow and who lives on the suck east coast like me?

I'm waiting for okemo to open.... probably will ski the first weekend of december which always sucks but hey, I gotta do it

My overall impression for PC's opening day was "meh". Pretty foul snow coniditons. It was that wet/icy snow bullshit. It was really hard to get speed for most of the features. Brightons opening day a few weeks ago was fun. Pretty good amount of snow and a few pow stashes left over. I had a good time. At least it was puking in the mountains saturday while I was up at PC.

I've gone skiing. Conditions weren't all to good. Fun as hell though to be back on skis and jib around with my friends.

Opening day for me is going to be at Kicking Horse.
It's got a shit load of snow already. Mid mountain has more than the total base of the other mountains in the area.
Sadly, since it's Friday (Dec. 10th), I can't make it due to bloody college. So Saturday for me.

Summary, I don't get an opening day this season.

I feel for you. I felt the same way. I had a good time regardless of the conditions. I was pretty stoked and thankful for what I was working with. I had a ball on the jibs PC had setup.

i've skiied killington twice while the lifts were running, and I hiked it once early when it got like 2 ft of heavy. I also skiied sunday river.

had a great time riding the mini parks at both.

Grouse opening was very fun. Stoked to be skiing with the crew again and managed to get up whis for day 2.

i think there is already a thread on this but ill contribute.

Went up the day after opening at Crystal Mountain, WA, and all ide like to say is that I got faceshots and deep pow turns down untracked all day for $20. Best opening day of my life.

Mt Hood Meadows was awesome on saturday, plenty of fresh light fluffy pow to cruise through, crowds were pretty light, no wind, just a perfect ski day. wish i could head up tomorrow, they've gotten another ~3 feet since then of incredible powder. tomorrow is going to be an epic day for some lucky people.
