How strict are resorts with their boundaries?

How strict are the resorts in the us and canada with their boundaries?

Cause i norway we can ski pretty much wherever we want.

Everywhere I've been the limits are pretty much none, if they are, there's a ribbon and signs all over the protected area you can't ski in.
And I think your on your own responsibility if you're out in the powder.

Skiing closures is not aloud at all in canada. but going touring outside of the ski hill boundry is completely fine, just know your shit about avy conditions and whatnot

I almost got my friends pass clipped for literrally going around a rope to hit some woods in Michigan, some of the places are super anal around here.
