So at the end of last season I broke these two small plastic pieces on my Salomon Z10 bindings. A buddy of mine who works in a ski shop told me that I should replace the bindings, since the piece I broke is designed to allow you to release properly. I value my the wellbeing of knees more than how broke I am, so I'd like to take his advice and replace them....
I'm looking at getting either the X12 (supposedly slightly beefier?) or the Rossi Freeski 120 binding to replace them.
Some information to consider:
-I'm a featherweight. Only 5'2" 110lbs
-I'd be mounting them on my 4frnt CRJ's
-I ski hard, but rarely ski park (duh, the're CRJ's)
-I'm broke so nothing too expensive
I loved the minimal rise of the Z10's, which is why I'm looking at the Rossi 120's as well, but I honestly don't know much about different binding models. I'm looking for advice/personal experience between the two bindings, or if you have a good suggestion for a different minimal rise binding that's not overkill (i.e. DIN over 12-14) for my weight and won't break while catching an edge landing switch on hardpack off a roller...
I found a good deal on the Rossi's on EVO's website but they seem kidn of heavy and the Z10's were light as hell, as are the CRJ's they'd be mounted on.
Thanks in advance for any advice/opinions/experience/pointless NS hate and/or love!
