Anime/Asain Movies

For school in my Asian History class, we had to watch this anime movie from 1988 called The Grave of the Fireflies. I've never watched any movies like this and I actually really like it. What are some other good anime movies?

dont look up hentai.

howl's moving castle is super good.

bleach is a tv series. pretty good.

full metal alchemist is real good.

cowboy bee bop. also good. tv show too.

thats all i can think of for now...

FLCL was an absolutely hilarious show. It made no sense and was so random.

Samurai Champloo was one of my absolute favorites.

As stated Cowboy Bebop (theres a live action movie in the works)

The key though is to watch it in Japanese with subtitles. Anime in English once you see it in Japanese just, sucks.

Appleseed is enjoyable. Its not traditional anime, im not sure what you would call the animation but its along the lines of reboot. Shell graphics maybe?

- All of Miyazaki works (Mononoke Hime,Spirited away and so on..)
- Most of studio Ghibli (Grave of the fireflies etc)
- Akira
- Some Gundam series, Gundam Wing, Gundam 00..
- Evangelion
- Deathnote
- Code Geass
- Tengen Toppa Guren Lagann

But there's many more.

And please, PLEASE, don't watch them in english, it would be a crime.

last semester I took an asian studies class called, creatures, spirits, and aliens...2.5 hours of anime a week.  And some how managed to get cought for plagiarism.  I dont understand how grown men and women find it entertaining my eyes felt like they were bleading everytime I steped into that classroom.

FUCK, I forgot about that series and I just started watching it again. That series and Bebop are probably the only two that are actually pretty good in English mainly cause of the guy that does the voice work for Muegen and Spike.



And I agree Mike, so har to watch that show and not want to go get some smokes.

..or shrooms. The Mushroom episode is highly regarded as one of the funniest episodes in any genre. I love the trippyness of Spike walking up those stairs.
