I haven't looked into it more than that past year of both early- and regular-season trailers, but think about the songs they used and how their artists kinda took off just after that time.
Early season last year: Some hathbanger track, I think he called it "j'fee 4 lyfe" or something like that. Now he has a pretty big following online, and is making a name for himself in CO for sure.
Regular season EDIAS: Ghosts'N'Stuff by Deadmau5. I was a pretty big mau5 fan for years before this trailer came out, but I just find it ironic that he DJed the MTV VMA's this year, and is now getting huuuge public attention.
Now, looking at this year's tracks:
Early season Revolver: Sunday School by Pretty Lights.
Regular season Revolver: Animus Vox by the Glitch Mob.
Not that anyone who is into glitch/electro/dubstep shouldn't recognize both of those names, but I think that both groups have definitely "blown up" in the past year or so.
I'm NOT trying to say that since "so many people" see the PBP trailers, the artists of the songs they so happen to choose suddenly get a ton of acclamation, but I'm more saying props to the PBP editors and directors for having the foresight to choose music that hadn't quite hit mainstream, but was on its way up.
Thoughts? I could be totally wrong, but I just thought it was interesting how it worked out. Does it mean the same thing for Pretty Lights/Glitch Mob? Probably.
