Dabello's and shinbang?

1. get the intuition liners.
2. Most common cause of shinbang is leaning back when you ski... if you ski forward the liner tongue will sit properly against your ankle and shin. When you lean back it causes the tongue to bend, creating a gap at the ankle and a pressure point at the top of the liner at your shin. No one likes to be told that they ski "wrong" (for lack of a better term) but for real, ski forward and you will eliminate 90% of shinbang.

I demoed the il morros at windells and liked them but they did give a little shin bang. Sick boots though.

Yes!! I have had horrible experiences with Dalbello!! I had a pair of "Rampages", I may be wrong, but they were terrible on my shins. Although, i do have pretty small legs, it pissed me off, and was just ruining the fun of skiing. My local ski shop tried everything we could do to manipulate the boot, but it obviously didn't work. Just a for warning. I'd like to know how it went if you get a pair though, cuz i'm thinking about pickin up a pair of Krypton Rampages. hopefully they would treat me better, i'm not sure if its worth the risk though.

i only get shinbang from jumps and thats cause its not always that easy to land forward when trying something new.

Yeah the liners will help and getting some booster straps.
The second part is right to any boot will give you shin bang it's not the boot it's how you ride or land. I used to land really backseat on 7's and switch 9's, any rotation that was rather large and I had to land forward. To really get rid of shinbang you have to stay nice and centered when you land and you will never have a problem. Trust me this will get rid of your shinbang 100%

shinbang has nothing to do with a particular boot, it has to do with how the boot fits (or doesn't fit) you. the same boot that gives one person shinbang can/will be the best boot for someone else.

thanks for all your suggestions. went today to a boot fitter and set me up with a pair of kryptonite cross's with the intuition linner.

I love those liners. I have the gold, amazing. They don't really "break in" like other liners so don't be too afraid to tweak em :) good luck & happier skiing!!

Dalbellos are actually less likely to give shinbang than other boots, even if they fit improperly... the longer cuff length displaces pressure more than other boots which usually fit an inch or 2 shorter on the leg.


That said... You'll never be happy if a boot fits you wrong

Not everyone has the same length leg as you...

That said... Fuck your knee brace... intuition liners are way more important.

love my krypton cross's. they feel like skate shoes on my feet as far as comfort goes, and my toes never got cold once last year.

Ive had a pair of dalbello boots last 2 seasons, the first season and half of the second was with the tan boots. I dont know the model name but they were the three buckled ones. I bought them lightly used but I ended up with horrible shins. So yeah, I didnt really do anything except last year around january or febuary I bought a pair of dalbello kryptons, the glen plake ones. I still had shin bang but not nearly as bad, I would just have your boot professionally fitted, and then see if you need a special footbed, cause it really all depends on how your weight transfers to your feet and ankles. Hope I helped a little.. oh and by the way, I bought these shin foam pads at my local ski mountain shops and those worked wonders..

if you knew how to ski,,, you could ski on old as fuck rental boots all year and not get shinbang.. fuck
