Headphones & Skiing

who actually finds that skullcandy icons or other headphones like that work well for skiing? I always found that they never stay on right and always fall down whenever I move.

ehh icons stay on fine for me..if i do have problems tho i just put my gog straps over em and they dont move at all

icons work great, but after a fullday of skiing my ears start to kill.

i have yet to try any ear buds other than ipod ones which blow. anyone have advice on some earbuds that stay in while skiing?

Forget what they're called but I usually ski with the Skullcandy earbuds that have the volume control switch. Like $30 and don't fall out,

The Icons are amazing and stay on no matter what. The foam on the speakers sticks to your hat/goggles like glue. The material they use for the ear pads on the Icon 2s is stupid and like Teflon against your hat and goggle strap. I returned my pair so fast and went back to the Icons right away.

I just use ear buds. I did it all last year and they never move at all.  I got the skull candy riots and they block out all sound around you... so i usually only have one in.

get the skullcandy holua ear buds. buds are wood composite and really durable. chord is encased in rubber-ish plastic so also very durable. retail for like 100 but they're on SAC for like 35 bucks from time to time

Yep! They're the same price too. I think this function may only work for iphone/itouch (don't quote me on that). But just look for the "smokin' buds" that says "mic" on the bottom right of the package. This give you Answer/end call, play/plause, next/previous track options.

i wear the lowriers and the icons when i ski. i dont have a problem with either of them but i prefer wearing the lowriders cause they have better sound

icons i wear under my goggle straps when im just wearing a hat
with a helmet i, i have tuneups... they arent really comfortable though so i might use the asym buds im getting soon.

ear buds killlllll after a long day of skiing. but same with icons if you put them under you goggle strap. you gotta find some kind of happy middle ground

Anyone ever use Skullcrushers while skiing? Im wondering cuz I got some and they're amazing, but I might wanna take 'em out on the slopes if I feel safe with them

I've seen some of the larger headphones break because of cold &/or crashes. Be careful. But skullcandy has a pretty cool warranty program that will allow you a percentage toward a new pair if you bust yours during sports.

yeah ive found that my skullcandy ear buds are great but it means i cant hear anything other than my music. I like to be able to talk and hear my friends

I find icons stay on just fine for skiing or skating or whatever you are doing. One time I took a hard fall and lost my goggles but not my icons.

oh yeah i forgot to say this, icons are great for "normal wear" like just on you head or over a hat. But if you are wearing a helmet, and you have to put them around your neck they fall off

I'm sure it's not as big of a percent as 30. as said above, olympic athletes use them while competing.

This. The only ones that really hurt are ones designed like the stock iPod ones. even the cheapest skullcandy earbuds that actually go in your ear canal a little dont hurt. They are much more prone to fall out, but the sound you get is way better than icons, and its not too much of a hassle.

i always wear my icons, i love them..i can't wear the buds sometimes because they irritate my inner ear and fall out a lot.. i have been looking into the sony buds though, i heard the ones that clip are really nice.

i love my icons with a passion.
they have never fallen off on me, and its stupid easy to just move the headphone off your ear if you are trying to talk to someone.
Also, they're like $10, just in case they decide to break on you

icon 2's around the back of the head. as long as they are under the helmet straps you are set. assuming you dont keep the ear covers in its not a problem.

I'm not going to lie, I'm not a big fan of skiing with headphones. i personally like the sound of my skis on the pow or carving a line in the park. However, I've tried the Skullcandy Titans and they work very well, best sounding headphones under $50 that stay in while skiing...check 'em out!

i hate earbud headphones while skiing. total pain in the ass. and i hate icons under the helmet equally as much. however, if you clip one of the buttons or position the icons partially under the strap, behind the head and sitting on top of the helmet earpads, it works like a charm. you dont even need mute buttons or anything cause you can just slightly push them down with your glove and back up again easily.

Dont know what its called but someone posted a thing that you plugged into your ipod then plugged into your headfones and it was a remote i think that changed everything. might help

Not typically but if i do, i put them around my kneck and they have a wonderful projection sound and stay on your neck so well. Eiki helgason(the snowboarder) wears them all the time. The one and only thing i dont like them for around my neck is flips. but if i flip while there on my head i have no problem.
