yeah people that win small bowling and pool tournament get like $50,000 if they win, and the biggest skiing events only have $10,000 prizes for first place, its just that the sport isnt big enough and sponsors dont want to pump as much money into it, also because the event arent aired on TV

Yeah, like someone once said to me, skiing is a business... And right now there's not enough interest to make any money, or at least the kind corporate sponsors want. It's all about greed and excess, and if you pump more money into the comps that's what feeskiing is going to degrade into, so it's m ore of a double edged sword. But looking into it a little more you'd probably realize that the comps aren't and have never been where it's at in any of our beloved extreme types of sports. You have to be sponsored, pro, have your own pro ski, shoe, whatever... Go play Tony Hawk Underground and you'll learn all about it. Frankly it'd be a sad day when you can make more than 100,000 from a comp, the NBA is full of overpaid greedy ass shit talkers, the vets say the new players have no talent and I agree. We don't want to be paying these people for substandard talent, so only the most talented people get paid, and that's where skiing is at right now. What else could be said?

more fans = more revenue = bigger salaries (or in this case bigger prizes)..why shouldnt nba players make that much .. the nba brings in tons of cash on their behalf so they earn it
