Base grinding Belt sander VS Stone grinder

Is there really the need to go get an expensive stone grinding or cab you flatten out your bases with a belt sander and a careful hand?

If u don't know how its done its best to take it to a shop. That being said, using a belt sander u would have to do a wet sand, or have some form of constant liquid cooling because u can do some serious damage to ur skis if u sand them without it. The heat crated by that process can cause base damage or even delam if u over do it
