Canadian Medical Association Trying to get MMA Banned

It pretty much just says that the brain injuries are too traumatic and that it does not want the sport coming to Canada.

It has already been sanctioned in 7 of Canadas 13 Provinces and Territories and is about to be sanctioned in Ontario as well.

I know that there are many supporters of MMA on NS and I was just wondering what you guys think about this?

They might as well ban Boxing, Kickboxing, full contact Karate, Skiing, Snowboarding, Skateboarding, Rollerblading, Wakeboarding, Walking, Running, and Bike riding as well since you can bang your head doing all of those too.

I don't know if you can really compare walking and running to getting in a cage and "fighting" (I don't know what else to call it) with someone for a period of time.

If they ban MMA they should also ban Boxing, any full contact martial art (karate, Tae Kwon Do and the like), kickboxing, skiing, snowboarding, hockey, soccer, lacrosse... seriously, you can bang your head hard enough to get a concussion waking up in the mornings or falling out of bed.

ALSO, MMA doesn't have their fighters turning into this like boxing does:


Please tell me I am not the only one that needs subtitles.

Funny enough, they gave Toney subtitles on the countdown show a few times. If they're going to ban MMA, then there's no logical argument as to why they wouldn't ban boxing either.
