when you bring them to the bank they will just brake open your rolls and dump the quarters in their change counter. They don't just accept them because they are afraid there are slugs in the middle of the rolls.
I brought a 100.00 bill in to get change one time and 3 people had to look at it and write on it with a currency marker before they would change it out.
for sure. we never break open the rolls it takes to much time to process so we just believe the customer because its not much money really. but if we find out you screwed us we wont accept it anymore without having to break it open
you should buy 62 dollars worth of bills, like three 20s and two 1s. or mix it up and get five 5s, one 10, a 20, six 2 dollar bills, and a 1! 620 dimes would be cool though. so would 1240 nickels. fuck it go with 6200 pennies
word, happens almost once a day. He said his bank took them though. You would think the people would feel stupid, but they get mad for some reason. Maybe because when they come in to get empty rolls nobody tells them!
we do it on an honor system with our customers, but if there is a problem down the road we either dont accept rolled coin from them or break it open and count it, which can be really time consuming and there is a decent chance of human error involved. I can see why people would get mad if you broke open their rolls to count everytime
