New kayak trip photos

I just went on a big trip around Colorado to take pictures and video of my friend's kayak team.
I took about 1000 or so pictures, and got 40 i really liked, i'll try and narrow it down in here

also I like 9 and 10 better than the other drop pics. A nice tight shot is cool now and again for detail but the overall view of the feature is taken away. I like a wider shot so you can see the whole rapid or drop. I get pissed at my buddies sometimes for zooming in too far. The video in my profile is a good example, nice and tight but you can't really see the whole wave I'm surfing on. I'd rather see the whole falls rather than be able to read the stickers on the guys boat ya know.

i like the tight crop, but my friends, the kayakers, like the wider angle.

I think for the ones where the action is mostly horizontal, most of the waterfall pictures, the tight crop is better, and one the pictures with the action vertical, or coming at the camera, the wider angle is better

and for the surfing pics, i like the tight shots a lot more, at least the ones from the glenwood wave. In those, the kayaker is the point of the photo, not the wave, i chose to do it that way because i didn't like losing the detail in the kayaker to include a sub par background.

but i know what you mean, looking back at it i would have liked to take some wider shots and crop it to just the wave, leave out the shitty background.

overall though, i'm pretty happy with some of the shots

Try to balance your tight shots with some decent wide ones as well. Part of the awesomeness factor is the landscape and the over all rapids these guys are in, as opposed to just their positioning and tricks

This. I also feel a lot of them are underexposed. Definitely some sick shots in there so keep up the good work.

yea, there are some under exposed ones that i haven't fixed in lightroom yet, its kind of hard to get the right exposure with the water being sooo bright and reflective
