Yeah we played terrible in those matches as well. Just that today there were wide open spaces to the left and right of our box, that the Germans had time to play. It just looked awful.

Dude OMG, this commentator hit the fucking nail on the head about US soccer and what it takes to get into pro ball and get on the US team. He thinks its bullshit that the only way to make it in soccer is paying for it (i.e. playing in college and more than likely paying money to be on that team at some point whether its rent/school expenses)where it should be different. I think alot of it just comes down to is that there aren't enough teams organized to play each other which sucks cause if we had that , it would kind of work itself out and more people would get noticed. I mean you pretty much have to come from a rich family if you are playing on a us national team u-20 and below. ODP and shit like that just costs mad money. Fuck I hope we get our shit sorted out. Im working on organizing a tournament in my home town cause people are finally realizing soccer is the shit and maybe we can keep a team going.

Fifa should just add a ref or two to each goal line. That would really help. As an AR it can be a real bitch to keep up with the players and the ball at the same time, basically impossible to keep up with the ball. Plus its kind of far to see clear out to the goal from the sidelines. There should just be an extra ref or two on the ends. Goal line technology would still be nice to have on those really close calls. Or to get a replay of what really happened in the box where the the guy is just laying on the ground either acting or a real injury.

not necessarily. look at the french team. Some of their great players were born into poverty. If i remember right, even Zidane's family was quite poor but he was spotted playing and a team recruited him. Thats the big difference. In the US, you pay to play for a team. In france for example, the team may find you, give you a trial, and if you're good enough, they will take you, make you into a better play, and then trade you at a profit.

the USA will always be behind the world as long as the only way to make it is to go abroad, or get drafted, which severely limits the numbers going through.

Jesus Mexico started out so well, but now they seem to be falling apart. They keep giving the damn ball away. Argentina seems like they are gonna make it to the finals.
And yes the refs get paid money , not in the sense that they are paid off but they get paid money for being a ref, just like any job.

losing 2-1 where both goals required some crazy african devil voodoo magic? please... they would have done the same thing to any slow england defender, as well... those guys are quick, and started the first half an hour of the match looking like brazil when it came to how they made passes.

regardless... makes me smile that all you english idiots who give americans crap are out yet again due to overrated, incompetent fools. You guys got no further than us, and got downright skinned by germany.

Complain about the goal as much as you want, but losing 4-1? your argument is as good as Germany's for losing 4-2 in 1966...

I'm not one claiming the USA is some incredible team that's going to win the cup or anything like that... i'm right up there with you that the USA plays well with a team, but isn't quite the quality of the top 10 international clubs... even though they've found ways to defeat some of them, and at least compete with them. Theyre still a quality side, and definitely deserve their fifa ranking in the top 20 for their efforts.

I'm just sick of cocky english folks who think 'the yanks' will always suck, and they'll never come to terms with such a possibility... showing a strong inferiority complex isn't attractive...



Be proud of your team, england. They're a strong side. Nobody here is claiming they are not... Your constant blabbering on about how 'awful' the us team is just provoking bullshit...
