Just got a beer ticket

So we were on our way to a party, planning on ditching our cab. We pull up to our destination and there just so happens a cop is there. Ditch it or not? In front of the cop? We went with no because we had a 12 pack in beers left over in our pockets. So we pull over to the side of the road, and the cab decides to wave the cop over. "They owe me $27.50" "Do you boys have the money?" "ughhh at the bank....by the gas station". So the cop kindly escorts us to the gas station...where we pay the $30 for our cab....whose up for getting searched? I sure am.....they pull a 12 pack out of 3 of us....whose up for beer tickets? So a $125 later..i sit in my room at 12:16 writing this....fml. At least therse a kegger tmrw..fuck toronto

three things were wrong with that story.

1. Drinking. Smoke a fucking tree. I was out in the exact same city as you last night with a blunt in my mouth and nobody stopped me for shit.
2. Letting the cops search you. i have gotten out of so many bad situations with PO by just saying, "on what grounds are you conducting this search?", there isnt much they can say to that other than "be on your way" (unless you are being an idiot and mouthing off or smell terrible).
3. Trying to ditch a cab. this one is just straight up pretty fucking dumb.

Legal drinking age is 19 and 18 in Quebec and I have only heard of people getting tickets for underage, never probation.

from what i have read from this thread is that you had beer exposed in your pockets while underage, and tried to ditch a cab all while you got a ride from a cop with the beer still exposed?????

Im from Toronto too and have never had a bad experience with a cop. They all seem like jokesters. One time some cops walked into a house party and started yelling in high pitch voices "OH SHIT! ITS THE COPS!" It was awesome. Sucks about your ticket. When I saw the thread title, I thought you won some Willy Wonka type thing to a beer factory or one of those mystery mansions haha.

I was rollin on 1 whole purple starfish by mouth, 1 whole purple starfish via insufflation, and I chewed up a half.

The party next to us got busted and there were around 4 cruisers there and a sidewalk full of cops.  My friends and I exchanged smalltalk with them as we walked by them twice on our trip to the gas station.  It was pretty fun because I am local and the dumb college kids that go to my town were pissing themselves.

I still haven't slept.

At least it was only 125, a drinking ticket in the states is anywhere from 300-1000 dollars depending on where you live.

Enlighten me, but really, there used to be drinking tickets only 150 in montana but even those got upped to like 300 bucks.

Tickets in the states get so expensive because of taxes and fees, just like when they f you over when you buy concert tickets.

I had a $50 ticket that was closer to $100 after all the county & state taxes and other fees. Shit gets jacked up so fast.

For all you people who think they are badass fuckin lawyers in the US, a fuckin cop can search you after committing a crime such as ditching a cab.

The most well-known definition of probable cause is "a reasonable belief that a person has committed a crime".
