I, along with a group of fellow skiers and friends, founded a non-profit media company. We took our skills from making ski videos and decided to put them to a different, more globally oriented use. Our latest project has been to travel to Haiti and create free promotional fundraising videos for various NGO's that deserve exposure.
Eighty five cents of every dollar you donate to the red cross, and many other large bureaucratic relief organizations, gets spent on administrative costs. That is money Haitians will never see. We tried to highlight organizations so small, and so desperate for funding, that there's almost no way (without us) that you would ever have the opportunity to help them.
SO, we're having a screening/fundraiser at UVM this Friday and we would love it if you came, even if only for a bit. Show some support, and help out a fledging media company that started right here, on NS. We bought our first video camera to make edits so that we could post them on NS.
