Why is it such a big deal what kind of computer someone is using? Is it so important that you need to attack someone personally over their operating system of choice? You guys must not have any major worries in life if that is what concerns you. Saying things like "Macs are gay" "Pc's blow", that makes you look like an ignorant little kid. It reminds me of when I was 13 and would get in political arguments with kids at school, angrily repeating whatever my parents told me at dinner the other night.

Both are good computers and operating systems and both have their uses. I would be willing to bet that 90% of Mac owners use them for nothing other than web surfing, word processing, and listening to music. Personally I own a PC, I use AutoCAD, Access, and Excel almost daily, listen to music, surf the web, download music and movies (OMG viruses!!) and occasionally edit videos. I have never had a problem with my computer. I have friends running PCs trouble free and friends with shitty slow PCs. I also have friends who own Macbooks, none of whom use it for any thing other than internet and music. A few of those friends have had some problems with their Macs, others have had great luck.

At the end of the day we are all using a non perfect computer. Personally I would rather spend time away from the computer and more time in the shop or outside skiing, hiking, fishing, or hanging with my friends. Is it really a big deal what kind of computer some one uses?

LOL at "get more shit done son" Was the Dell not fast enough to switch between NS and internet porn?

I prefer Windows OS as I am used to it and it works for me. I also build my own towers and such. I have never liked the MAC style os, specially since I managed to crash it in less then 30 seconds.

IMO, pc's are easy to use, very capable, and cost effective machines. There is no sense in spending more money on the same product.

as far as media goes its obvious why proffesionals mostly choose mac......

Whoa there did I say there wasn't? I was saying which type of computer I have, Mac or PC (a Mac in this case), which, if I recall, was the original topic of this thread. I also said why I used a Mac instead of a PC.

Personally I think my post was more relevant to the topic than your paragraph on why we should all get along and stop arguing about computers.

KDE is cool, especially amarok and digikam and plasma and qt and etc.... but I use gnome, cause its faster, way more stable, and alot more work is put into Ubuntu over Kubuntu.

Ya, I own both. Both have ups and downs, so only a moron would say one is the end all be all of computers. I think Microsoft is even with OSX, just in a different way.

I like em both to use personally, but Mac users are the ones who piss me off mostly. I have had plenty of people tell me that I should have bought a Mac when I take my Windows laptop somewhere (Library, Coffee shop, whatever) when ever idle conversation comes up, but anytime I have been using a Mac, not a peep. Just seems like Mac users feel compelled to tell you how much better what they own is.

Yeah I understand that Ubuntu is usually much more supported then Kubuntu. However I prefer the desktop interface of KDE better coming from a windows background. Plus pretty much all apps work great in either. I'm still a relatively new Linux user though so I know I have much to learn, but for know I'm satisfied with Kubuntu.

PC.  I'd build my own and prolly use Ubuntu if I had the time, but I'm really not that big on buying separate parts from all over and assembling them myself, so I'll stick with windows for now.

The only reason I would EVER want a mac would be a macbook, for FCP, the portability and battery life.  Nothing else.  And I would still have a desktop PC, because laptops suck dicks for anything except updating your facebook status and looking like a hipster.

To the people saying that macbooks are "easier", are you mentally handicapped in any way?  Because PCs and Windows are not complicated in the least haha.  Ooo0o0o0o0o you get a shiny little popup bar that shows the 6 programs that you only use two of!  Awesome!  PCs have the same if not more power for so much less of a price.

hahaha fuckin hipster cat. hits the nail on the head everytime. I used a pc all of last year, now i just use the university computers because I fried it. Would still use a pc again. Save 700 bucks instead of getting a macbook pro, and put it towards something else. IT FRIED WHEN CHANGING THE SCREEN, because i broke it shutting it hard on an ear bud. i could buy another of the same computer, and be around the same price for a pro. did everything i need. typed, downloaded, and was fast.

True, it is just that select group that really annoys me, the loud minority that stands out I guess. I really do like both though, and the abilities of Final Cut Pro and the ease in which it can be used is remarkable. And for those who don't think Final Cut Pro is top notch editing software, I suggest you watch the Coen Brothers film: No Country For Old Men. Yeah, it was edited entirely with Final Cut Pro.
