Tachometer

so my friend just bought a honda civic and it doesnt have a tach in it. He is going to buy one and put it in but he wants to get this little cheap one that is red and black. My friend chris and I want  him to spend the extra 40 or 50 dollars to buy this white and black one that is actually a large guage and has a shift light (therefore it is more badass). I dont really know anything about cars or which one is better or if there is even a difference but i think a shift light is friggen sweet. So I need your help NS to convince my friend rob to not be a cheap bast and get the one with the shift light.

the point isnt that he needs one to shift. he just wants to get one so he can play his beats without having to listen to the engin.

your friend def. doesnt need a tach. but since the civic is a high performance race car you should get a huge one and mount it right infront of his face on the dash. you will be super cool then, and only then.

o ya and get a new muffler, and a sticker that says "take it to the track" on the window.

most important thing about a spoiler instal...make sure you just bolt it to the trunk, you wouldnt want it to be functionally tied into the frame!

Unless your going to be doing some serious drag racing( which he won't) then he doesn't need a shift light. I bought a small Sunpro tach to put in the S10 but took it out cus I didn't really need it. He should be able to know when to shift with the speedometer or by feel, otherwise he is a bitch.




But if your gonna get one get a huge one, I heard they add like 50 horsepower yo!!!

alright. obviously nobody understood the humour in having a tach with s shift light in a 2002 stock civic. But i will let him know that ns wants him to get a large wing on the back.

yeah i gotta say, no reason to pay extra for a shift light (i didnt even know that existed) but it might be nice to have a tach every now and then. you really dont need one though

Get the Tach for sure, everything lucifer and the other guy said.

I would also recommend a NoS guage. You don't need NoS, but with the gauge everyone will think he has it. Oh and a fire extinguisher to mount right in front of the driver, to show everyone how dangerously he drives!

But seriously. Tell him not to waste his money. Drive for a day without the music and he will be fine. My system bumps and I never look at my tach. uhh /claim

Do not get a tach, I got one to see what I was reving at, and now I refuse to go over 80 kmh because I can see how much gas im wasting. Also a shift light is pointless.

And even then, you will be able to feel when to shift as well.

I can't tell you the last time I looked at either the tach or speedo to tell me when to shift.

If you don't suck at driving, it comes naturally.

Amen brother. Been driving stick for 11 years now, hardly ever look at the tach unless I'm running it up for some reason. Just think of it as a way to get to know your car better, listen to her she'll tell you what to do.

Hahahah I know for real! I have been driving my car about a year now without a tach or speedometer. I find it funny that people have a hard time just listening to the sound of their engine, which usually will let you know to shift unless you want to seize the pistons.

just for clarification, this isnt my car and my friend can drive his car perfectly fine with out a tach. We wanted to make him get it  as a JOKE because it would be FUNNY to have a tach with a shift light in a car like his. obviously nobody understood the humour and just had to hate. i thought you guys would catch on and come up with some funny ideas why he should get one.
