First off, I apologize if there is anything on this problem that I couldn'f find, but I didn't really know what to look for this, so:

Right now I have a 5ft tall drop in, but I haven't attached an actual ramp to the structure. I'm not sure how long the ramp should be to get the right speed. I've seen drop-ins with really steep angles and  some with more mellow angles, so I am pretty lost. Again, the drop in is 5ft tall, and it is on the top of a slight hill. How long should the ramp be?

Its probably hard to tell right now and you'll just have to try it to find out. But if you put on the turf in the right direction and water it with soap you should be good.

depends on how much you want... but mine is on flat ground in my backyard, and its 6 feet tall and 8  feel long before the transition. then it has a 4 foot tranny before the take off ramp, which is 2 feet long and 14 inches high. and that gives me a lot of speed so 8 feet would probably be good for your set up especially if your on a little hill already.

mine has about a 35 degree angle.  i wouldn't go steeper than that.  as long as the tranny is smooth it will work great.

according to physics the steepness (is that a word) does not matter because the accelleration downward is the same so regardless of the angle you will have the same speed at bottom of it.

You want to have a transition that you can pump through for extra speed, but be careful not to make it so steep that your skis flex to much and slow down in the transition.
