Westborough Baptist Chruch is coming to my school

The West Borough (sp?) Baptist church is coming to my school next week.
All the teachers and administrators are saying not to mess with them because you can get in legal trouble with them.

I kind of want to mess with them somehow, but i don't know what to do with out doing anything physical ie eggs.

so, ns what do you think?

They're coming to it on some tour of the country, or region, or something. They're touring trying to preach their horrible ways in a protest, i guess our school is just on their list of places to go.

The WBC are a group of hate. They say things such as "Thank god for 9/11", "Thank God for Dead soldiers", "Thank god for dead fags" and about the students at BHS they said this: "Boulder High School 1604 Arapahoe Avenue These students have been raised on a steady diet of God loves everyone, God is a liar and it is okay to be gay. Result: A generation of violent, simple sluts and fornicating clods. Isaiah 3:12 As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths. The only hope any one of these clueless brutes have is that God is merciful to them to send his prophets to give them some light and truth -- since all the adults in their lives have selfishly lied to them to date. Please don't lump them in with Christians who actually try to live out what the Bible says.  I love Jesus and am proud to say that I am Christian.  I am not proud of many things that the church in America does, but I am proud to be associated with Jesus.  That being said, God is grieved at the image of Him that they protray.  The Bible says that God desires that none should perish.  The idea that He would laugh when a homosexual dies is obscene and it truly makes me sad.  I can't believe that sign.  Does God agree with homosexuality? It is pretty clear from the Bible that He doesn't.  But He also doesn't agree with theft.  But neither theft nor homosexuality are reasons He turns His back on someone - He pursues them all the more. 

I cannot believe a school would let these people within 100 yards of the building.  But I am guessing that they too want to avoid an atrocious lawsuit based on some claim of being denied access to a public area.  We live in a unique time and a unique country.  The same privileges that I am so grateful for are also given to the folks of WBC.  If you believe in God, then pray that these people would be enlightened and that God would have mercy and open their eyes to some of their ways.  If you don't believe in God, then try to muster up all the kindness you possible can.  You think hate and all the responses you have mentioned here will do anything but fuel their fire?  Kindess and mercy are better weapons against hate than hate itself is.  They don't deserve respect, and I am not saying anyone should be gracious to them.  But, all you can be responsible for is your reaction, not theirs.

You probably read that and think that you are so kind and God is so harsh.  But put yourself there.  Say you had the ability to create a little race of people.  They were enslaved, treated cruelly, and were desperate for help.  So you, in your kindness, even though they resented you for not fixing all of their problems, delivered them from the hands of the enemy.  Then you sustained them by making food and water magically appear.  And the result of all this was that they said that other people had done this for them and they worshipped fake idols and cursed your name.  That is pretty much the treatment that God received.  Then say their enemy came upon them.  What would you do?

Well, that would depend on your purpose.  If it was just to be the hero or just to sustain people or prevent harm, then yes, I bet you would crush their enemy and save the day.  Only to repeat the same pattern over and over and then God has become the puppet of the people - only needed in times of trouble.

But God's purpose is to be in relationship with His people.  At the time, it was solely the Jews.  Therefore, if they turned from Him and forgot their covenant with Him, then He would allow evil to come against them, ultimately for their good so they would repent and turn back to Him...

As I am finishing that sentence I am not sure why I am bothering to write that.  You won't consider it and you love justifying yourself so I probably just wasted a few minutes there.  Oh well.

Back to the point of the thread - the WBC folks should be ignored as best as possible.  According to the OP, it is sad that even the school has to change its schedule to avert attention from them.

why won't your school let you do anything to them? How the fuck are these people getting into your school? That irks me man, they shouldn't be allowed to preach their radical agenda at a school. A place of learning and non-ignorance.

I don't really understand these guys, it doesn't piss me off at all, I just wonder how they'll feel when they get old and say "jeez, I toured the country spewing hate, being the laughingstock of the nation; how come I never just got a life?"

i think you should just have a silent protest against them, across the street from tyhem. that would not get you in trouble and they would probably get pissed and do something of which they could get in legal trouble for. also video tape it in case they do deo something wrong you could evidence that could hold up in court instead of just your word

so god has special laws for different people? how do i know what laws god meant for me to follow and what ones i don't have to pay attention to? Also, how do you know what laws in Leviticus are still meant to be followed and which ones we can throw out.

finally why would gods laws change over time -- that's something i'd associate with human laws, not with commands from a divine being.

the laws were given to the nation of israel, thousands of years ago. it governed every single part of ones life, thousands of years ago.
jews are the ones who keep the laws found in levitcus, the extent of which varies by sect.

Some vegan Lady came to our school, She said we could as questions and give coments at any time by raising our hands i conterdicted everthing she said as I am a vegiterian myself and so I felt i had a right to call bullshit on her facts and made up my own statists. A teacher asked me to leave the hall and i was clapped out my whole year group and even the techer later mentioned "you made that bearable but just took it to far"

So my tip ask loads of questions and slowly begin to annoy them

If Levitical law only applies to the group that received them, on what grounds to Christians have to abhor homosexual relations? Those who wrote in the New Testament would have done so based upon these Levitical teachings.

When you say levitical law does not apply out side of the Jewish people you would think that this qualification would have applied to those who wrote in the New Testament-- making their statements inapplicable.

Furthermore on your line of reasoning, Christians have shouldn't have 10 commandments -- these were given to the people of Moses. Jesus only gives 2.

Drive by shooting with painballs.

Not really, you would get in serious trouble for that, but it would be funny. I think a protest against them with bible quotes is the best idea.

I don't think they even consider themselves to be Christian. According to their website, they hate Presbyterians, Catholics, the Eastern Orthodox Church, Lutherans, Methodists, Episcopalians, Baptists, and Non-Denominationals.
