Class Project: Need feedback and ideas!

So this is my senior project. I am making skis out of snowskates. This is how far I have gotten. Tinkin about putting griptape on the top. NEED BINDING IDEAS!

I don't want to sound like an asshole but what are you doing this for? like what class? Cause all I can see is that you are mounting bindings onto snowskates?

thats all it is haha. But it took me a month to draw up and dimension it on the computer for my teacher. Then it took several classes to cut and shape the skis. Soooooo just testin the waters to c what u guys think. I anyone has like backyard snowboards that they don't use anymore, i'll pay you for the bindings. Just reply and post a pic

what would the grip tape accomplish? and why would you use something other than ski bindings if they are going to be skis

just find some old cheap ski bindings and bring them to your local shop and have them mount them for you, easy

na i need something that u can put a shoe in. like the plastic toy snowboard bindings. and i just thought grip tape would look good on top. i dont know

If its a shop thats certified in ski bindings then theres no way that they will ever do that for you.

are they just snowskates, but skinnier? i would throw on the cheap snowboard bindings since waterski bindings dont really fit unless youre barefoot.... snow and barefoot dont go to well together. unless you construsted your own kind of bindings with the idea of a waterski binding but you could slip into with shoes on.

its one snowskate cut in half and shaped into two skis. I think i'm gonna go with using velcro sinch straps

Find some wide, thick plastic cup that your foot would fit in as a toe piece, then cut them in half and find a way to attach them to the tops as toe pieces. Then heel pieces just another thick piece of plastic  and shape it to have a curve that the heel of your shoe would fit into and attach that so it fits vertically into the ski.

Kind of complicated explination, but good luck with the project, also the griptape's a good idea. try cutting it to some sort of design, could be really cool looking.
