I was looking at Selfedge.com but they're charging a pretty ridiculous amount to ship to Canada. Anyone know a good site to buy Nudies..preferably for cheaper.

im just saying that a pair of jeans is a pair of jeans. you put them on and walk around....if your willing to spend $200 to look good you have some serious confidence issues.

Now if the jeans gave me a near orgasm everytime i put them on, it might be a different story

to you. to others fashion and nice clothing is a big deal. and there really is a huge difference between a 30 dollar pair of jeans and a 200 dollar pair of jeans. fit, wash, etc. expensive raw denim becomes like a second skin, way better fit than some random old navy jeans will. not to mention every pair is different since you put in the wear/fades.

Holy shit I hope you are kidding. If not.....good on you for having that much money, but fuck you need to get your priorities straight. I don't think I spend that much on food. That is almost my yearly car payment, and I drive a $22,000 car.

Personally, I'd never spend that much money on jeans. But then again, lots of people wouldn't spend as much as I do on hoodies/jackets/watches/etc. It's all in a person's priorities, and if the jeans really mean that much to someone because of their special qualities that's fine with me. I'd never even heard of these jeans before, shows how out of the loop I am.

I love how intense these threads get.

Anyways, what I don't understand is how kids can go out and spend 1000$ on their new oakley setup (something that is worn far less cumulatively than a pair of jeans), and everyone on NS is all over their dicks for it.

I guess it's because 90% of the kids on here
A) don't care if they wear something is fits them well/is good quality (designer)/ settle for the zellers special.
B) legitimately can't afford nice jeans/ have other spending priorities (which it totally respectful)
C) go into "homo clothes money spending" mode.

honestly, look at it as consumerism is general.

take cars, for example. you can go out and buy an 80k$ benz, or a 5k$ hyundai. both will arguable do the same thing (move your ass from point A to point B), but it's the experiential, qualitative differences between the two that justify the price difference. Same thing goes for pretty much anything else out there (houses, ski equipment, electronics, you name it).


anyways guys, keep it up. it's great reading these flail-posts.

But yeah, I guess spending 150$ + on a pair of jeans (that will be worn every day for a year or two (my situation)) is too much for the minds of a bunch of hick kids on ns to comprehend.

I've bought multiple pairs of Raw denim jeans for under $100 and wore them for months straight and loved them. Most notable were my current Nomis Staple Denims. I scored those for like 60 bucks and they are perfect. I've worn those every single day since like November without a wash and they are starting to look really good. Before those I had a pair of Matix Gripper denims, again raw denim. I wore those for almost a year without a wash and were the best jeans I've ever had until I ripped them skating. You don't have to go out and buy $150+ jeans just to get an awesome high quality pair of jeans. Diesel, True Religion, Nudies, etc. are all so popular that they charge a ridiculous amount. I'm all for high quality fashion but I know there are much cheaper alternatives that aren't Levis or Luckys.

I buy jeans for like 40 bucks and wear them for years, i think the jeans im wearing now are 3 or 4 years old. Spending large amounts of money on cloths is subjective, some people like to do it, some don't, who gives a fuck?

I do the same with jeans (for this thread's sake).
Nudies I buy half price when one of the local shops have their quarterly sales.I like how they fit.
I spent 300$ for some diors. They were 60% off. BIg deal.

I was about to say STFU heath, but yeah, you're right. Fashion is subjective. Some people like to spend a bit more than others for certain looks and feels, and some people couldn't fathom spending more than $50 on jeans.

But I think we can all agree that no one needs luxe jeans for every season every year, just the same as how we can agree that $10 jeans are disgustingly shitty.

It's all about where you sit in that golden mean area.

c) I completely understand and value the worth of the dollar. I live within my means. Yes, I like nice things, but I justify this with the ideology of "quality over quantity".

As much as I'd like to go out and buy a nice pair of Japanese Salvage skulls or something, I don't have 350 bucks, I just found a code for 25% off Nudies at Selfedge..so I'm gonna use it. I've had quite a few pairs of LRG raw denim, and I enjoy how they fit and how they are fairly high quality, i just want to get something a bit better.

yes a car gets you from point a to point b. no matter what it is But a benz has alot more shit in it then a honda or whatever you compared it to. im not sure your $200 pair of jeans are that much greater than my $30 pair.

In response to all the haters in this thread, I worked my ass off all winter to get money, and I'm going to spend it as I want. Already bought all new ski equipment and new forks and rims for my bike, so I'm going to buy myself something that's going to last. Most of you can't understand why I'd spend 140 bucks on jeans, but as soon as you're in the position where you have 1100+dollars lying around in your bank account and nothing to do with it, you'll be singing a different tune.

I don't want to really argue this farther (and I mean no ill towards you), but I'll try to illustrate my point.

The process of steps that a good pair of jeans undergoes to be created is tenfold the amount of a 30$ pair.

They WILL fit better, be more comfortable, and usually, look better. By how much? It depends on who you are, and what you look for. Let's just say the margin is slim (but again, it's subjective). In the end, they both are essentially covering your sweaty ass.

Same goes with cars. Buy a high-end car, and you can bet that the processes (R+D, testing, fit and finish etc) will be tenfold that of something like a KIA. You'll pay more, and realistically to the layperson the advantages will be minimal. Again, it's all subjective.

I see your point though, and don't think any less of you or anyone else who shares your point.
