Skiing used to be a pure sport filled with adrenaline and excitement. With all of the new technologies and equipment skiiing is no longer the same, it is too easy and not how it was meant to be. Skiing of the future is only going to get worse and the skiing of now is nothing compared to what it used to be.

so you think rocker and light construction makes it too easy? the point of removing the limitations of skis is so that we can remove the limitations of where skis can go. its not about doing the same thing over and over again, only easier, its about using the better technology to go places that are harder and bigger. it makes the difficult stuff possible, not the available stuff easy.

Ski technology has gotten better, we can all agree on that. Keep in mind though that shaped skis now allow average skiers to carve much easier and ski things they couldn't have 20 years ago. This is a double sided coin however, because now the top tier athletes can push themselves and their equipment much further. A lot of people can carve and ski powder with greater ease, but those who were already proficient at those skills can now go faster, do more tricks and continue to raise the bar.

This whole argument about the new generation not being as good as the previous one is as old as time itself. When hot-dogging first became a thing, it was seen as reckless and stupid by some, people said similar tings about park skiing when it rolled around as well. Hell, I'll probably complain about the young guys when I'm older as well.
