Skiing used to be a pure sport filled with adrenaline and excitement. With all of the new technologies and equipment skiiing is no longer the same, it is too easy and not how it was meant to be. Skiing of the future is only going to get worse and the skiing of now is nothing compared to what it used to be.

woah woah woah. are you saying that riding twins / powder skiis in bumps will ruin them? i compete across the country for moguls. i know what good moguls are and what moguls have been formed by a drunk cat driver. i ski moguls in my park skiis sometimes too, when im too lazy to get the skiis i use for competing with. is there something wrong with this? please enlighten me.

Dude... enough people have already said it... but that is an idiotic topic. skiing is realer than ever. new tech makes new things possible and obviously you dont ski powder or rockered skis, cause its the only way I fly... so if your saying that aint real you must live in a cave or a coma.

just because something is easier to do does not mean you shouldn't do it. it means now you can do things that wouldn't have been possible before and those things could be more fun.

its not like we should still be riding horses around because that was the original mode of transportation

Better equipment just means you have to push your self more with more progressive tricks and lines. The equipment is there to make you go faster jump farther and have more fun. You have to push your self as they make better skis or you fall behind. Skiing is absolutely still real.

I work in a ski-surf shop in Poland and I met there a dush who was talking about how awful are all new tech and stuff and he said that it's for e.g. like when you buy a bicycle, a super lightweight one and you wanna ride hard to be tired. He said it's stupid because you'll get more tired on a old shitty one. So stupid!
If your skis will automatically do a dub cork, than you might be right.
But it still mostly depends on your ability and skills. And if you really believe in what you're talking about stop complaining and get a wooden skis and go shred on em.

fat skis are innovation. shaped skis at one point were innovation. ski lifts were at one point innovation.  metal edges were at one point innovation. SKIS at one point were innovation. I dont care how far back you go innovation has been the driving force behind the sport.  If your not a fan go strap some bear traps to your feet if thats what makes you happy but the rest of us are going to go shred on fat skis and do what we love to do.
