the frenchman didn't do an iron cross though, he did a variant which should have had a grab.  even the announcer on tv said that he missed the grab and that it would cost him.

obviously you're looking at his performance from a very macro point of view.  the judges are there to see it from a micro point of view.  they pick up on the nuances that the uneducated tv viewer won't.

so in short,

a. you're not an olympic judge
b. cry about it again

hahaha i really couldnt give a fuck, im glad a frenchie didnt win but it was still some bull. and i know about missed grabs because im not a fucking moron. iron backie is not dope by any means tho and a backy with a missed grab isnt much worse. and he had a better time and got 6th. so you can shut the fuck up.

he did what the judges wanted to see from an iron back.

that guy maybe did a more technical trick, but didn't execute.  so if you're not gonna do it right then don't do it at all.

and a time doesn't mean anything if you don't have good technique going down the hill.

Bilodeau slayed.

If the 6th place guy had pulled off his trick then he MIGHT have had a shot, but when you fuck up on an air as much as he did you lose points. No grab, it turned out somewhere in between a backflip and a cork back and just looked bad. Can't win like that, your run has to be technically perfect.

Huge props to all the Canadians for absolutely slaying and putting on a good show.

See this is where you don't understand the judging on moguls, grab or not the scoring would not have been as high as Alexandre's because he didn't throw a back double full off the first jump which is one of the hardest tricks in moguls.

so in short,

a.you're not an olympic judge either
b.yeah he messed up on the grab and had a good time but he walked away when Alexandre congratulated him, so I'm happy for him especially because he dedicated that run to his brother Frederic who has cerebral palsy.
