Help with installing an amp and sub in my car..

so i have not installed anything like this before, i'm not a complete idiot when it comes to wiring and stuff. but i do need to know some of the basic stuff.

so i have a 300 watt bridged amp, and two 10 inch subs.

i have the RCA wire that goes from the cd player to the amp. but its just regular audio wire from the amp to the subs. and thats about all i know.

my questions are, what gauge wire should i use for the audio wire?

what gauge wire should i use for the power wire?

and where does the remote wire connect to from the amp?

and i heard you're suppose to put a fuse between the battery and the amp? if so, how big of a fuse?

here is all you need to know but if your not good with wires and stuff maybe have some one else do it. but its not hard i've done probably like 6 of my friends cars. but ya put the fuse no further than 6 inches from the battery and make the ground from the amp as short as possible. (at least under 12 foot away from the amp). the hardest part i always found was running the power wire from the battery through the fire wall but here this video should help http://www.crutchfield.com/learn/learningcenter/car/amplifiers_movie.html and for the remote wire there should be one on the back of your cd player and you can solder them together or wrappem and put some electrical tape. but hope this helps.

o ya and for gauge of wire i would say if you plan on going bigger then possible a 4 but your not running a very powerful system so you would be fine with an 8 gauge or possibly 12g but as for fuse an amp kit will have one included along with pretty much all of the wires you need to install the amp. and the wire from amp to sub is just a regular audio wire and for the power that your subs are pushing i would say 16 should work. But if you ever plan on upgrading getting all bigger wires up front is much easier in the long run than having to do a full reinstall.

thanks dude, that will definitely help me out.

i dont suck with wires and stuff. i just didnt know quite everything i needed to know.
thats good to know about the fuses and ground wire..
