Replying to Big Brother's foundation

Hey guys, currently i'm in the process of signing up for the big brother foundation.  I don't know much about it other than the fact that you get to be the role model of a younger kid, whose likely an orphan or something like that.  I feel like it would be a good thing to do, also i feel it could be a good learning experience, and it looks good for scholarships etc. so i'm going for it. 

Has anyone else ever done anything like this?  What was your experience like?  Did you gain anything from it?  Would you do it all again?
