Really? No disrespect to Vanular, but I am pretty sure Wallisch is far beyond C-Vans. Wallisch is like one of the most paid, most well known skiers. Vanular is on the comeback still.

Both real sick skiers, doesn't really matter......but for the sake of the argument: Vanular was on his way to becoming what Wallisch is today, way before anyone new who Wallisch was. However Vanular got hurt and Tom Wallisch showed up.

if tom blew both his legs and was out for awhile and corey kept going theyd be at the same level. though i still havent seen tom do half the shit onto a rail as ive seen corey. Corey did more shit onto rails than tom does off....

Back in his prime C-Van was progressing the sport more than anyone with the rail-to-rail transfer and his style was so far ahead of everyone's.  He's still pushing the sport with stuff like his butter cork 9.

wallisch all the way. No doubt Vanular throws down, his segment in Long Story Short was un-real. But wallisch has been throwing down since his superunknown debut and continues to throwdown with a ridiculous pace of progression. He left Vanular in the dust after he started competing in dew tours.

During the times of Shanghai Six and Long Story Short, Vanular was what Wallisch is today. Wallisch kills it without a doubt. Vanular has been sidelined with injuries. But I hope and expect that Vanular will make a full comeback. I believe he was getting doubles this summer at Momentum. I really hope that he will be back in the competition scene soon. Anyways, they are both unreal and I think both will have sick segments in Level 1's next movie.

but for Vanular to come back from a 2 year injury and catch up that fast to most pro skiers is sick. he just got back and hes already pushing shit forward with those flip-offs in mammoth and that urban 450on. he aint done goin places

I compare Wallisch today to the Vanular of 2006. Not trick wise of course, but back in 06 vanular was winning all the contests, stepping it up the most on rails, and making the sickest edits. Just like Wallisch is doing now. To bad Corey got injured...

Fair enough that you wanna know what people think of these riders (to me thats really weird, but no worries) But that's not the question your asking, your asking us to compare them, which is retarded since they're clearly on different levels, and perhaps have different goals as well. Wallisch is on the top of his game and is dominating comp's and movies, Vanular is still on the mend and trying to comeback. They're both seriously dope riders, but just friggin think before you make a thread, that's all we ask.

I really do hate these threads but if they are going to be discussed then they should be put into context. To those of you who are comparing their current skiing you need to understand the history of this sport.

Yes, Corey is younger than Wallisch, but he also was winning the US Open (slope) and Gravity Games (pipe) in the same year in high school. How many athletes in our sport can you think of who dominated both sides of it? He was at one point the most dominant park skier in the world. Stylistically he took what Mickael did and pushed it to another level. He was inventive, technical, and stylish at the same. A lot of the current style and trends can be attributed to what he did back in 2005 and 2006 when he was 17 years old. Corey was, in my opinion, the first skier to really own both the filming side and the contest side at the same time. He would shoot entire segments in 3 days and they would be ground-breaking.

Tom is outrageous, and he may be the best park skier I have ever witnessed. But even he will say that Corey laid down a crazy foundation for this sport which is still felt today. Corey is 22 and those who doubt him will be proven wrong.
