Hey, I have a blue iridium lens for my crowbars. I was riding with my googles off and snow got on the inside of the lens. Yes its probably super bad that i wiped the inside of the lens, but i had too cause my eyes couldnt take the snowguns (BTW i was nightskiing) Anyways, this clearish film type residue was left behind and its really impossible to see through, idk if there's a solutuon to fix it, ill get some pics up in a couple minutes. And yes i used the proper cloth/case thing to wipe it. I know im an idiot for whiping the lens but i just want to learn what to do or what to not do so that i dont ruin my next lens.
your lens is ruined, buy a new one and get over it.
NEVER EVER WIPE THE INSIDE LENS when your skiing, when its fogged, or wet at all. You wipe off the anti fog and leave permanent scuffs.
Instead take off your goggles and put them under a hand dryer in the chalet. Or take them off and wave them around for a few minutes to let them air out.
before you throw down for a new lens, buy a Smith Smudgebuster and a Smith No-Fog-Cloth. Use the Smudgebuster to, well, bust your smudge and the cloth to re-apply a pretty decent anti-fog coating. Try that first. It will only set you back a few bucks.
