Funny thought on Skiing and Snowboarding

Has anyone else noticed how skiing has never personaly attacked snowboarding(except when it was FIRST starting/ before the freeskiing movement), however since snowboarding started they have always had a negative attitude for skiers (and I am not saying snowborders are all sterotypical shred head assholes) and something on that topic is released every year. For example the stickers that say "Skiing if for little fat kids," Danny Kass Badmouthing Park/Pipe Skiing saying snowborders founded it and should have exclusivity to it (basically calling out skiiers for progressing out sport/ when he has TANNER HALL on his glove team), to High Cascade making fun of skiiers/ excluding them from there camp facilities for that reason, and finishing up with with my favorite Burton shirt of a skier being sniped. I just seems to me snowboarders are sooooooo concerned staying the super cool underground snow sport, when in reality they would NEVER exist without skiing/ and they just want to push an "uncool" feeling on us to appeal to people honestly no older than children. I just find it funny how hard snowboarders try to stab at skiiers, and love how all we do is let our skiing talk for itself. *High five* Newschoolers and Merry Xmas!

The majorities of boarders I have met are generally always much more chill than skiers. A lot of skiers always act like they have to prove how "badass/thug" they are whereas the snowboarders I ride with are chill and just want to go ride. I will choose the Mt. Baker snowboarders over most of the skiers there.

I agree...

Most skiers i see at northstar or sierra try to act like there some little punk thats better than everyone else.

Where the snowboarders ive talked to were always chill and wanted to just shred

Ok, to those people hating on the kids that just believe the Grenade and Burton hype, and get all mad at the marketing. And the people that are getting all butthurt over the "snwoboarders rule!" mentality.....

YOU'RE THE PEOPLE THESE COMPANIES ARE MARKETING TOO!! YOU HAVE THE EXACT MENTALITY THAT THESE "Burton Kids" HAVE!!

Those of us who are REAL snowboarders and REAL skiers, take absolute NO offense to these marketing schemes. Am I crying because I can't go ride Deer Valley? Or because I can't go ride Momentum? No. So why are you getting all upset over a god damn sticker? Do you think that the Line skis with the gaper/old school snowboarders on the are taking a shot at snowboarders? I do. But I'm not making any lame thread over it.

-The only people the companies are marketing towards...are the gaper snowboarders.
-The only people getting upset over these marketing schemes...are the gaper skiers.

agree. out of all the people ive ridding witht the only people that hate are crappy gapers that you wanna shoot in the face anyway hell i board but i road everyday with a skier we had so much fun. and he taught me how to hand drag off stuff. AND we could switch randomly throughout the day if we felt like sucking at life again which was so much fun. there is really nothing more fun then flying out of control down a mountain

Regardless of the original topic I have noticed that a lot more skiers are positive towards each other and get stoked on each others riding, than snowboarders are to their brethren.

we should not be concerned with our relationship with snowboards, but more concerned about our relationship with other skiers on the hill.  kind of tired of always getting the look.  don't know wear the animosity comes from.

Dude i see where your coming from.   I ride with ALL snowboarders and they talk shit about skiers.    They wont to me because I ride circles around them.   Its gets annoying but you cant focus on it.   The proggression of freeskiing is way  ahead of boarding, anyone who rides know this.  

I am a big dude at 240, I would love to see a snowboarder tell me skiing is for fat kids.   I take offence to that because I put 30-40lbs to be comparable at Offensive and defensive line.   Any snowboarder who believes that is obviously ignorant.   I quit skiing for football(had to stop anything that was dangerous in the off season), and was totally awed by how far skiing progressed since i put my blades away.   

Most snowboarders respect skiers, the ones that dont will have problems because they should.   Neither of us are going anywhere, why should we fight for the mountains.

We attack snowboarding every chance we get. It's a dog eat dog world out there..can't take a chance on having a sense of humor about it.
