Rail problems

might be stupid but it helps me to look at the end of the rail. idk if that helps

I think its just a phase everyone goes through.  I would just try to get yourself to relax. dont think too hard about anything.  M aybe get your feet a little wider.  YOull get it back!

if at one point you were able to hit rails fine and throw 270s out, then youre only problem is that you have a mental block. like you said, you may be overthinking it. just relax, dont psyche yourself out, take your time to progress (theres no rush to be throwing down if your having trouble hitting it in general).

yea the aproach is important. what part of your boots do you mostly balance on and where do you all keep your hands mayby iv developed a bad habit which i need to kick

Hey we all have our troubles but yeah just stay wide and centered and you'll be ok. Try it on some flat bars first just to get a feel

This used to be a big problem for me I could next just slide a rail. What i did was approach in a wide stance, pop, and then really concentrate on adding some weight on your right boot if you slide with your right foot first. Once you get it a couple times it becomes really easy and you don't even have to think about it.

Funny because I am going through the same thing. Used to be able to hit rails no problem and now I either slide off early or eat it. For me, I know it is mental and while I have been regressing I have developed bad habbits. I think you just need to build you confidence back up with hitting them and relax about it. Take it easy though. Start small and work your way up. Also, getting footage of yourself helps a lot because you can see exactly what is going on. And what AndrewEberhard said is good. Keep pressure on your forward foot. And like everybody said, look to the end of the rail, wide and low stance, and just don't think about it too much. Just focusing on a decent rail slide for now is what you should do. So forget about 270s. Eaier said then done but you will get it. It just takes time. So good luck! :)

Sometimes it helps to go a little faster if you are slipping off. I focus on getting on solid, then I can scissor to stay on the rail solid, or set up to spin out or switch up.
