so last night was my season opener at my home mountain. i was on my brand new fujas and was ripping them around, testing them out. So i was FLYING down at full speed, popped it switch over a creek, rode out like 10 feet, went to turn, caught an isdise edge and spiked my head in the ground. good thing that i had a helmet on. My buddy brought me home early because I was so shitty. My head is pounding right now, and i was puking when i got home. I'm tired all the time and have been sleeping all day. Does that sound like a concusion?
yeah i'm just out of it. i don't want to go to the doctors because they will just tell me what i already know, to protect my head. i'm going to take it easy for a bit
If you are serious you should definitely see a doctor as puking and sleeping a lot can indicate swelling in the brain and can be very bad. A concussion is more of a very strong headache after hitting you head, even if no loss of consciousness occurred. This is not a time for NS doctor to diagnose you. See a professional!
Serioulsy, I don't want to sound lame but you should go now. I'm no expert but have studied a fair bit of neuroscience / medical biology / emergency first aid and your symptoms do not mean you won't be fine but are typical of more serious problems.
you really need to see a doc. you shouldn't be sleeping after getting a concussion too. if you sleep after a concussion i think you risk your brain shutting down and not being able to restart.
i know. they said i can't do anything for a month. what a bummer! i'm still going to ride, but no heavy/intense stuff. nice easy pow runs and such. i told my friends that i'm not allowed to hit anything big/stupid, and they need to take me out if i try (while somehow avioding damage to my head) haha
do you have really dark bags under your eyes too? From what you have said it sounds like you have a concussion. Going to the er will just confirm that, and they will not help much, but they can make sure something more serious isnt wrong.
well they can still do catscans and stuff like that to make sure theres no major problems though. its always a good idea to go to the er even though they'll probly tell you to not ski for a 3 years until it heals... you can probly shorten that time if you want anyways...
