Rockered park ski??

whats the deal with the rockered park ski.(not hating) is it better for something. dont park skis need to be like a norm ski cuz the traditional twin have camber and isnt that better for like jumps and rails cuz u have more platform under ur foot. cuz as i remeber rockered skis have no camber or almost none and not too much of the ski is touching the snow.

I think lots of people just like them, cause if by chance you get some fresh snow you can still ride a little bit of pow, plus they are yeah really buttery and stuff, just a different feel that people like I suppose

I agree 100%. It's a marketing ploy by manufactures to put out a new product. More money! Think about it. You don't see any new crazy tricks coming from a new designed park ski. I still can butter, jump, hit rails the same with or with out rocker. Its hard-pack! Pow is a different story. The lift in soft snow is great.

helps a tad if your an early spinner. doesnt catch on the lip as easily as a non rockered ski. other than that i dont see any difference. but if you watch the alpha 1 and 2 vids on armadas site. they say they dont know why but its swing weight is muuuuuch lighter

i see what your saying but having rocker in the park definitely has some benefits.  sure you can butter on normal skis but with rocker you can butter more and easier, i have also heard it is better for presses on rails too.

I have reno rockers.

They are absolute noodles, but sooo much fun. Not really good if its your ONLY ski, but I still find myself using them 90% of the time.

They just have such a different feel, more surf like. SO much fun. You have to ski ti to believe it. read my review on backcountry.

Again I prove my point!! Look at any podium skier(Dew Tour) and see if they won on a rocker'd park ski. The answer is NO.

well because neither atomic, scott or salomon produce a rockered park ski.
and the three on the podium of the dew tour are sponsered by these brands. so they cant ride rockered park skis like the armada alphas or moment rockers.

chill, rockered skis have advantages and disadvantages, i dont own a rockered park ski, but i sure could immagine they are really fun in the park.

Yes, you're probably right that rockered skis won't make it on to the podium any time soon, but thats because rockered skis, from what I know, aren't made for that type of skiing. They're are made to have a different feel in the park, a different style of skiing. They aren't made to stomp huge jumps, but more to be playful and fun skis. So far I haven't hit any big jumps on mine, but on rails and just riding around, I love them.

Anyways, I don't think that you can say that just because they aren't changing the pro world means that they won't change the world of everyday skiers. It's because most of us don't uses our skis in the same way as the pros do, so we can't really compare the results that a pro gets with the result that we'd get.
