Yes, you're probably right that rockered skis won't make it on to the podium any time soon, but thats because rockered skis, from what I know, aren't made for that type of skiing. They're are made to have a different feel in the park, a different style of skiing. They aren't made to stomp huge jumps, but more to be playful and fun skis. So far I haven't hit any big jumps on mine, but on rails and just riding around, I love them.
Anyways, I don't think that you can say that just because they aren't changing the pro world means that they won't change the world of everyday skiers. It's because most of us don't uses our skis in the same way as the pros do, so we can't really compare the results that a pro gets with the result that we'd get.
