just got an update from NOAA- looks like where I live can see 12-18 inches and over by philly up to 2 feet

not trying to be a negative nancy, cause i want this snow just as much as everyone, but in philly the weather stations always hype up the first "big" snow of the season, lets hope they're actually right this time!

Yeah you are right. They always do this!! I'm getting my hopes up! I want to go skiing all break! Break starts Wednesday. Im hoping Monday and Tuesday will be canceled! Im psyched for snow!

Going to Windham tomorrow, first day out, super stoked. So, will I freeze if I wear basketball shorts under my snowpants? I know people on here do it and I don't have anything other than jeans, so it looks like I have few options.

Rogge, if you wanna hit up the mid-atlantic and take advantage of this, my house is 5 minutes outside of DC and an hour to a decent resort with a solid park is south central PA. Think about how gnarly a DC urban montage would be, doesn't get more OG than that

so stoked for the snow. im grabbin my gear and heading out as soon as i wake up tomorrow... probably hitting bear creek or blue mountain up since theyre the closest for me and im just too eager to drive any longer ha.

Just got hoke from windham in ny, even though this is the pa/md thread. Close enough. First day out, good to be back on skis. There was a ton of newschooler looking kids, one of you had g suit pants. I was the kid with the orange chronics and gray coat failing at tailpresses and doing disasters on the flat down box.

I know it sounds ridiculous, but until you get to semi-real mountains deep into PA, theres absolutely no off-trail options available. If you venture at all into the clustered trees theres no base below the powder so you go straight to the rocks and stumps and brush on the ground. So at resorts all there is to do is either do 3 minute runs or hit park which is awesome with fresh snow, but its barely better than normal.  As opposed to hitting urban, where unless you're good/experienced enough to not worry about dealing with an inch or two to work with, this is a very very rare oppurtunity. Hell, today I went to a local sled hill and built a mini kicker into pow and it was amazing. That, and the highways are shit so a lot of kids don't even have the chance to drive hours at 20 mph to get to a resort.

I'm gonna go hit a handrail and savor this
