Just to get a hype train going, my friend is on the park crew there and says that Mt. Ellen will have a jump in the park when it opens Friday. Hopefully they will open up a lot more rails in there too.
they werent bad, but they looked like they neededsome work done.
Tonight was the last night grooming for the current park groomer. He is going to be replaced by an experienced with park groomer, Aaron (current groomer) says.
comp today was mad fun, got burnt as fuck. It was reaaaaaly laid back and unorganized though. Before the comp they were announcing asking for 3 judges to judge the comp. Only Skier judge was a fucking gaper too. He only watched the down rail, and stayed on it for the entire comp. But kids were THROWING down on all the other features. A bunch of pretty sick step on tricks by TK? Cole was throwing down, 450 on 2 off the down bar, and disaster 4 on the dfd. Ryan was throwing some sick shit, 360 swap over the kink on the dfd, and a coupla 450's. Overall was mad fun but i have to spray aloe all over my face.
Whos going tommorow?
The jump line on Saturday and Sunday was a lot better then it has been. Good work sugarbush especially in light of all that's gone down with your grooming team. I think you could add a little bit more lip to the second table big side, it is a little flat. The big third jump was a little squirrely on the in run too, but I know it is hard to maintain jumps under almost 50deg conditions.
i figured it was something they are watching on traveling circus... but then again, i guess not everyone watching that is on here
it looks decent if they do it at normal speed and are doing it to spin a 2 on, but when they slow down to a stop and then do it, it wastes all of our time
ya I rarely even hit the jumps anymore which is unfortunate. one of the reasons I was stoked to come to bush this year instead of smuggs was because of some jumps
jumps are dead for sure. really unfortunate since i really need to work on grabs and wanted to get a 7 this year. guess ill stick to getting my goals for rails jibs done.
should probably post more info about that. dunno if skiers are in yet, as its hosted by rhythm snowboards...
$10 railjam, free if you are wearing a tank top

i believe they were going to leave the battleship, down, and rainbow boxes from the butter bash for the rest of the season. thats what tony told some of us when we asked if they were moving the battleship over to ellen
really soft all over today in the park and up top. they were smart enough to close the jumps off even though it looks like they have been cleaned up since i was up last.
i do see why they would be closing ellen this weekend though. there are quite a few patches all over the mountain. i bet lincoln is doing fine though because they dont have minimal snowmaking...
yeah they could. the bottom is getting dirty and patched out, but its pretty fuckin cold right now after that 60 degree week.
big problem is wasted energy though. mt ellen has such little amount of people on the weekends, but the week is just empty. even the other lifts have nobody going up them. that is a lot of money to come from sugarbush. even just to stay open for one more week, which is about all they could handle with the base as you get to the bottom. mid mountain and higher is good though
i have heard park crew members talking about leaving the last 6 features up for hiking. pretty sure tony and trevor were joking when they said they wouldn't leave anything up... just look at the caps lock. they are always sarcastic in their answers on the parks page. if i were looking to hit some jibs, i would head to mt ellen first and see if stuff is up. my guess is that they didnt want to say they were leaving stuff up in case someone from lincoln ski patrol or something checked. pretty sure they have to say that because of legal issues and such (mt ellen is closed, no ski patrol... )
if there isnt anything there, just head over to lincoln instead. it wont take too much time out of your day.
sure dude, setup kinda blows, but watevs, its fun for a while.
I hope they put new shit into that setup. Any news on their fbook page? I cant get on it in school.
