You must be talking about dom laporte. He's such a sick skier that's the second comp in a row he gets stolen HARD it sucks he's such a talented skier it's incredible.

Hey all,
It was a great comp and thanks to all the competitors and kids who showed up to watch. All the skiers working their asses off and put on a great show. I will post results, pictures and footage too soon but here are some more results:

Men Skiers

ALSO, new this year, every 10 mins a skier and snowboarder won a $100 bill for a good trick. So...

Dom is definitely a young gun to watch out for - only 18 i believe. Switch 12's out the ying-yang. I'll be the first to admit though his style isn't the stereotypical "lazy steeze" that LJ, Compton and Will have.

what's lazy steeze? who's dom laporte? what happened? i can only refresh skitheeast.net 100 times an hour? give me footage, pictures..something more than some tweets and random comments...come on i bet there was like 10+ skiing english majors there who have friends with DSLR cameras who can collab on some coverage.

Ha! Mr. Malczyk: Michael Rogge was on scene, judging, STE should have some sort of representation of the event - i can only assume.

Mr. Laporte is a young hoodlum straight out of the Q. Check out out Mr. Nicolas Brassard Asselin (ESK http://www.skitheeast.net/blogs/bd/2009/10/19/Behind-the-Camera-.DSH.-ESK.SQT.s-Nicolas-Asselin/) The Affiliates, or an NSF film and you can tell his style different, nonetheless KILLA.

but, i have to say that even though the video is very well shot on a very nice camera, I need to see another video with the best tricks that were thrown, because so far it seems there was a lower level than 2 years ago... and rail skiing has evolved too much for me to believe that that video was all that happened.

can't hate on anyone who throws up a vid that fast and still it didn't feel that thrown together. thanks man.  obviously too much slowmo but i don't really care, just looking forward to as many vids from this as possible

I liked Billy W's switch 2 tails over. Usually when you see it, a skier takes off a good distance so the skis don't clip. He took off close to it, popped the tails over, then pulled it around. Nice!

ACTUALLY, this is what really happened..... Julia Marino KILLED it in qualifiers and finals!!! She was throwing down tricks on all the features and really using all the rails in the course. Yes, she did get hurt early on in finals (get better soon!) but she skied so amazingly in those first few minutes that it was enough for her to earn 2nd. GREAT WORK JULIA and I hope you enjoy the $500!!
