My local hill jus opened like 2 days ago, I was gonna go catch first chair Tomorrow morning, but I learned that the place where I dropped my skis off like a week ago dosent have the jigs to mount Marker Griffons, i mean....what the fuck? And they didnt call me and tell me this till I go to pick them up?! Now I have to go find another plae to get them mounted and waste the first skiing time of the year.....anybody else have bullshit like this happen to them?

That sucks a lot. Do you have old skis you could ride? Also maybe if you were not so lazy you could mount them yourself.

Maybe he would rather a trained person mount bindings....

Me personally i mount my own but not all are down for it.

It once took one of the shops near me almost 3 months to mount my bindings...Granted it was over the summer/fall but when I went to pick them up 2 days before going skiing they said they hadn't done them yet I was pissed. I asked to speak to the manager and the shop tech and yelled at them for like 15 min, in the end, the shop tech went to the back and mounted them while I waited and the manager said I could have a free jacket from their clearance section (or get 50% off their brand new selection - I picked the free jacket cause it was pretty sick - and was originally $350) and it took the guy 20 min to mount my bindings.

Even though they made up for their mistake, I'm still never going back there cause that was the SECOND time I had issues with bindings mounts (last time they didn't mount them in the right spot and had to remount them).

Two lessons learned though, always make sure the shop tech knows EXACTLY were to mount your bindings (mark the spot on your ski if you have too), and tell them EXACTLY when you'll be back to pick them (and make sure that date is well before you want to go skiing).

Naw I dont, well unless I rode some 160 carves and looked like a dumbass, and im not exactly the perfessional, I have watched 4frnt tech talk about mounting but i dont exactly think i could do it myself

Why? it's not exactly hard to mount skis. The people in the shops aren't gonna do it any better than you do, they can just do it in like 4 mins cause of the jigs.

just practice on rail/water ramp skis before you drill into brand new skis, haha

i bought new gear last year (jacket, pants, goggles ect.) Waited two weeks for my stuff to arrive, never did. So i called the number and the lady told me that they didnt have the jacket in stock when clearly online it said it was. So i waited two weeks for my shiit to arrive when it was never even sent!

Hah wow, yea i should get the right shit to mount my own, but i thought thats what "gear experts" at the the local shops were for, even when one "gear expert" suggested i mount my twins -8 behind midsole when i told him id be riding park.......at least i knew enough not to listen to him

Not going to comment about another shop, but only say that if any of you guys are in New England and need any work done we do it as told to, by you.  Center is center.  Mounting is never more than the due date and can be done for the next day if proper tech and time is available.

Enjoy your season and to the OP, I hope you are able to square up with the shop.

This is so true - such an awesome shop. I dropped them off and they were ready and mounted properly exactly where and when I wanted. I honestly love this shop - by far my favorite!

sorry for the double post - but just clear it up that this is NOT the shop I was originally talking about (although that's probably obvious) the first place I went that screwed everything up was Ski Market in Avon, CT (so people in the CT area know to stay away from there for their mounting needs at least). Colorado Ski Shop is fully legit.
