Afterbang V.S. suspects

Dont know what ski to get, i ski mostly park, and i want something light and flexable.

The responses you are going to get are most likely going to be along the lines of "If you want a ski that remains a ski throughout the season, get the afterbangs".

You could wait though, maybe they fixed the durability issues on the suspect.

well both of the skis are most likely going to fall apart by the end of the season you would be much better off going with a proven park slayer such as the wall or anthem

LAST YEARS Suspects had major durability issues - however that was last year, it's hard to say how they act this year.

I have the Afterbangs and they are a super fun ski that seems like it'll hold up really well, and if not, Line has always been known for having an awesome warranty, while last year people were having some problems with Salomon. No hate on Solomon, but I think Line is superior in the customer service department.

i "say" this. there is absolutely nothing protecting the side of your ski. no cap no sidewall. all the layers are just sitting there waiting to start delaming. i would much rather deal with chipping that delam. and there is no proven advantage other than the durability thing which still isnt settled. the skis arent any lighter than any other ski from line. and also i have seen minimal afterbang riding from any of the line guys except for compton.you would be soooo much better off going with an anthem or even better a pair of chronics. chronics will last FOREVER

Before, I begin, I want to say, I mean absolutely NO hate, I'm just saying facts.

First, Line put the ski in water for 24 hours and nothing happened, the "sidwall" is covered by a waterproof coating so water isn't getting in there. Second, there is an advantage to Afterbangs than Suspects, afterbangs are symmetical, have lower swing weight, and have butter zones in the tips and tails that make them soft in the tip and tail, but solid underfoot - how do I know this, I've skied both. Finally, the Afterbangs are one of the more popular ski amongst the Line riders, yes the use Chronics on bigger jumps, but hey if you could get as many free pairs of skis as you want you would too. However, you are correct in saying that Chronics will last forever...I'll give you that.

Personally, after riding my Afterbangs I can say, they are a very solid ski, and the only thing I'm worried about is cosmetic damage - everything else is completely solid.

since i know you've rode a ton of skis, are afterbangs the lowest swing weight of any ski you have skied so far? just curious, cause it seems like you LOVE you afterbangs, which is good to see some more positive feedback on this new technology!

This is actually something I was REALLY worried about when I pick Afterbangs - Since the ski I had before was Antidogmas I figured I was going to have to get used to having more swing weight again, but NO, that wasn't the case. The first time I skied them I made sure to try the same tricks on the same rails as the week before on my Antidogmas, and it was easier to throw spins on and off rails with the Afterbangs than with the Antidogmas. Plus as an added bonus, they're softer - which means they're more fun to play around with.

I can honestly say that these are one of my favorite skis by far - if not actually my favorite. Such a fun, easy to ride ski.

i guess im going out on a limb here by being the only one saying good about the suspects but here goes.

ive skied both, and there was just something about the suspects that i liked a lot. the tips and tails didnt catch at all which made me have more confidence and fun.  but both are awesome skis, just a preference thing i guess, the lines were softer and much easier to butter but suspects were more solid on jumps, especially on the larger ones.

just my opinion though, maybe this can help

okay but anthems are just about the same weight, wider which most people prefer on jumps and rails and not as likely to noodle out as time goes on. and ive seriously only seen compton on abangs. he rides em on rails and jumps but the rest of the team, will lj andy all ride anthems chronics blends and even mastermindson rails and jumps just putting it out there. to the op i wouldnt buy into abang hype just yet. i mean look at all the people who hopped on reactors. go with something proven. you want bomber construction go with chronic . you want to spread butter out your ass everywhere go with the anthem. just dont buy the suspect please.

Yes, the Anthems are close, but the swing weight is much lower on the ABangs.

Will rode afterbangs in the entire Finland rail section of Refresh - but you're only really talking about the big names A LOT of people ride for Line (both Am and Pro), and most of them are on ABangs (that's what the team manager told me). The reason you see the big names on so many different types of skis is just that, they are big names (on the Line roster at least) so they pretty much get which ever skis they want.'

I'll admit, I said the EXACT same thing about buying into the hype - before I rode them, but its about how comfortable he's going to be, if he's willing to "risk" getting a ski in it's first year I think he'll be happy. If not, Anthems and Chronics are also awesome skis.

Also, yes, there is something to be said about personal preference, which makes picking a ski so hard - and telling someone else what to get even harder, I don't know what the OP prefers in a ski, so I'm just going based on what I like.

don't get suspects man and the suspect and afterbang are totally different my suggestions would be anthem or the volkl wall and flashkick swears by his afterbangs so thats legit option to.
