Well since i live on ontario i see it happen like once a year
ye i jumped of the chair into powder but it was only like 10 feeet high
lol once this girl slipped through and was holding on by the bar and there was only one more tower until the top and after holding on for half the chair ride she just dropped like 40 feet.
I did 2 years ago. The asian dad and his two little kids were getting on the lift and the kids ended up sitting on top of each other kind of. Me and my broha were on the lift behind them and the kid on top immediately started to slip. The lifties were so dumb that they didnt stop the lift when they still could without the kid falling to far. So we get like halfway up the hill and the kid slips so that his dad is reaching around the othher kid to hold on to him. At first you just see his butt below the lift but he gradually gets farther until his dad is just holding onto him by the arm. His dad let go at the highest part on the lift and the kid falls a good distance. Our lift goes over him and we just see blood gushing out of his mouth. We go and get ski patrol and then keep skiing. My mom talked to some nurse and found out that he broke his leg and was temporarily paralyzed, but that he would be okay. It was damn scary watching the kid slip little by little and then falling. Thank god hes okay.
there was a young girl that fell off the chair pretty high up and her mother jumped off after her. the mother broke her wrist and the young girl was ok. scary stuff
I did.
This stipid as fuck kid in my ski group jumped the line to get on the 3 seater chair with me, then put his poles under me on the chair before we left the ground, then once we were off the ground I started yelling at him to get his fucking poles off the chair.
He lifted them up, thus launching me off the chair and about 20 feet to the ground . fucking dumbass.
I was left with serious shinbang, a sprained wrist, and a heated mood for the rest of the day.
lawl. when i was eight i was riding up the bunny hill lift with my pops and somehow i fell off and i was hanging on by one hand and my dad was looking the other way and didn't even notice until a minute later. i don't know how. but they had to stop the lift and get a huge ladder out and get me down while i was dangling.
In Chamonix (I think, it was about 15 years ago) my cousin who was about 5 at the time slipped off a chair just as she was getting on with my uncle, who grabbed her and held onto her jacket sleeve. Instead of stopping the lift while she was 5 feet off the ground, the lifty who wasn't watching let the lift continue until it was about 25 feet high. Then, as people were shouting to stop the lift, he hit stop, making the lift swing, and so my cousin slipped out of her unzipped jacket and she fell to the ground.
My uncle then had to wait for the lift to restart and sit out the whole length of the lift ride, to get to the top, and then ski down to get to my cousin who luckily had only broken her wrist and had a few bruises.
its funny when people dont get off the chair
i have. this guy i knew and occasionally skied with but refuse to call a friend was drunk and lay down on the chair.
he was on the chair by himself and this seemed like a good place to catch a quick nap or something, even though the vert on the hill was only like 300 ft, which isn't a very long chairlift nap. then the chair bumped a bit and he rolled off, dropped about 20-25 ft and hit the "snow"
first thing he said when we got to him was "if ski patrol comes take my flask and chuck it"
