Top 5 Skiers All Around

I'm getting hated on super hard over at TGR for basically telling them they're all delusional in making their lists of the top "all around" skiers, ie skiers who can do everything... Curious to see if Newschoolers is equally out to lunch in their perspective on these matters. Who is at the top of the sport right now when you consider all aspects of it in your opinion?

Tanner, Dane, Wiley Miller, Dylan Hood flies under a lot of radars but kiillls it, and Abma. those are the 5 that popped into my head but so many others like Rainville, Pep, and Tim Durtschi. etc. the list goes on. If you count everything equally those would be close to my picks but ahh I dunno.

All the above kill it in the park and are sick BC skiers too. Jon is on top because he's a world class GS skier too.

I didn't get hated on for the list so much as I did for telling them they sounded like Epicski.com with a different colour scheme. Seriously, some of those guys were listing people like Erik Roner, Hjorleifson and Shane (RIP) who are all, obviously, sick and at the top of what they do, but it's not all around. Sage might be the best skier in the world but I don't think he's the best all-around. Then some guy posted that vid of that swiss dude doing a switch triple front and described it as "none of the top park guys are doing anything close to this", which was just ridiculous. Anyway, my list was this.

Tanner Hall
Pep Fujas
Candide Thovex
Dane Tudor

There you go. Jon actually kind of sucks at rails (and he'd be the first to admit that) but he has the racing thing going on as well as jumps, pipe, and BC. Tanner has proved that he can do pretty much anything he wants to at a high level and is willing to work to get there. Pep hasn't legitimately done any park or urban in a movie since I guess around 06-07, but to that point had already proved he has credibility there, and since then has moved to being one of the most creative guys in the BC in the industry. Going back to Focused and his first AK trip it was clear then that he could hold his own and he's obviously grown since. Candide... well, recent X games slope gold covers the park and rails, and he was at one point at the top of the pipe game and can still bring it despite not being at a level where he could place near the Doreys and Dumonts (and Tanner Halls) of the world. Haven't seen urban from him in years. As for the rest of it, Candide Kamera should put any doubts to bed. And all I need to say on the subject of Dane is, watch the first segment in Everyday is a Saturday and you'll know."

I should probably have said, "Jon kind of sucks at rails in comparison to some of these other guys".

Honestly? Some of the TGR guys make sense and some of them are ornery. Who the hell can make one list? Its like trying to say that Christianity is the only right religion, or Mormonism is better than Buddhism. Its dumb to compare lists and call people wrong for making what they believe is a right list. In my opinion its bullshit to call people out for making lists. I mean a East Coast park skier is going to have very different opinions than me. Why should stuff like this be nothing more than a fun thread for people to share their favorite skiers?

Tanner is at the top. No arguments there. He slayed moguls too, and im sure he could race.

Jon. Racing, jump innovation and slayage, can do big mountain, is decent at rails (hes not nearly as bad as people portray him as, he just doesnt pretzel like twall)

T rain. Pretty damn good at urrythang. Jump steeze. Used to slay rails, not sure if he still does at all. Lately has been killing it in the BC and even did pretty well in AK

Tim Motherfuckin Durtschi. Amazed i havent seen him on anyones list yet....

Pep. He makes the list because he has done everything at one time or another, but he lacks the simultaneous diversity of some of the others on the list.

Tanner!! Slays AK and pow, one of the best in the world in pipe, EDIAS showed he can still ski urban and hes sick at jumps. And he can ski moguls Haha not sure if he can dub 12 and all that??

Hahaha, I saw that thread and I agreed with what you were saying even though I had no idea it was you.

It's so tough to pick who's the top 5 all around.

In no particular order (god i hate picking like this):

-Abma:i don't think there's any type of skiing he can't do and do it better than the next guy.

-Seth:i saw a video (or maybe it was a sequence picture) of him a few years ago doing some inverted trick onto a rail on his seths. wish i remembered where/when i saw it.

-Steele Spence-dude is sooo underrated. maybe not on top of his game as much as he used to be but i've skied with him a few times and WOW, he's much much more than a rail/park rat.

-I think once Sammy get's more into the BC he'll take over Tanner's spot which would be mentioned right here. So basically, this would be Tanner in top 5 for me but I'm goin prophetic on Sammy in the near future. So he and Tanner will have to share for now since Tanner is injured and sammy is charging.

-JP Auclair-i can't believe he wasn't mentioned in the TGR thread.

altough he's definitely one of my top 5 favorite skiers, sage is too mellow to be one of the 5 best and an honorable mention to kye but he's too young like sammy.

I already listed 5 so I won't again, but I forgot definitely one of the top all around skiers IMO
Mike Henitiuk!! Kills everything. BC is retarrded with dubs and crazy pillow lines, pretty close to national team moguls and his urban is the sickest ever.

Everyone is listing good guys - they can all kill it. Im missing a guy like Henrik Winsted,  2008 he was wold champion in freeride and he has won x-games medals back in the day. He, like so manny scandinivians, come fron racing (with Jon O) as a kid. He can do it all , and has a nice seg. en "In deep".  Just a thourght ...

Jon Olsson - he's problably the oldest pro still skiing park and has done arguably the most for the sport organising invents like JOI/JOSS and his in depth video blog!

Tom Wallisch - Urban/Rail God, king of afterbang, need I say anymore?

Andreas Hatveit - He can throw litteraly any trick and is probably the best skier at throwing it both ways!

Tanner Hall - Universal, so adaptable and incredibly head strong

Jossi Wells - First kid from down under to join the ranks and has progressed remarkably over the last 5 years on the circuit

second of all..wtf are people thinking when they are putting people like seth, tom wallisch, jossi wells, etc in lists like these...

im not saying they are arguably the best at what they do, but they have no business in an all around list...

all around-meaing all, or as many, levels of skiing covered.

In no particular order - (too many could go in this list.... I think it's personal preference, who you like watching, whose style you enjoy the most.... i.e. for me, Pollard has so much style with everything..... which is why I put Rainville ahead of Pep, I just love how he ski's - no homo )
