Save cypress mountain terrain park!

Hey NS,

My local ski hill Cypress Mountain has decided to not include a park this year, without telling anyone who has bought a pass so far. While the park was small, it had great flow and always a steady amount of riders.
I am so outraged at this I feel the need to refund my pass, but I do really enjoy the mountain.
So before I get my pass refunded I would like to see if NS has the power to convince management to rethink there decision, so many skiers at cypress can still enjoy the mountain.

If you would take a couple minutes and shoot an email to  contact@cypressmountain.com  and explain how skiing today is not what it was 20 years ago, and that newschool skiing requires some rails and jumps.

Post back in the thread if you have done so and i will GLADLY give you full +K.

"We had earlier announced "Terrain Park Closed" as one of the impacts of hosting the Olympic Games at Cypress Mountain.  We have received an overwhelming response from Cypress Mountain Riders and Skiers who have communicated their concern about our plans.
 
We have had several meetings with our staff and we have decided to get the lower rail park into gear as soon as we can.  We will decide from there if we can get anything else open given the major impacts of the games on Cypress Terrain.
 
As always, we appreciate your feedback and good or bad, it is extremely important to us.  Keep posted to cypressmountain.com or better yet get up to Cypress Mountain and get in some early turns and rides!"

i sent email to them. i feel your pain man. i ski cypress alot with my friend, and its just won't be the same without a park. dont get me wrong it will still be fun, but on icy crappy days park always kills time.

is this like Big Sky Resots brother mountain or something i saw on BS's facebook..Im not positive it is owndeed by Boyne but i am pretty sure they have some affiliation. Big sky is not ahving anything more then a mini park this year do to money cuts because of the money loss last season. It sucks but at least we have Monnlight Basin on the other side of Loan Peak. It sucks man. And the pass to Big Sky is $800!

What state is Cypress in? Canada? Sorry im clueless. I thought the olympics were at Whistler?

cypress sucks for customer service. I have never been to a mountain less stoked to have a ski comp (senior nationals at that!) There were even signs on the main lodge telling us to stay out.

I mean I thank them for hosting it and all, but I will be surprised if there is still a mogul course / aerial site / super pipe after the olympics.

Whistler is the resort about an hour and a half north of Vancouver where most of the Olympic events will take place but the rest of the events will be mostly in and around Vancouver.

Cypress is one of 3 local mountains just 20-30 drive out of Vancouver and will host all the aerials, freestyle, moguls and superpipe.

This season's pass was early bird $260...which is a great deal considering only 20% of the hilll was going to be directly affected all season due to the olympics. But unfortunately, they've taken away all of the nearby parking and you have to park at least 30 min walk full gear.

Oh well...it's still the best hill alternative to Whistler in Vancouver and it's only like 20 min drive north of the city. The park at seymour, another local mountain, is better though.
