Anyone from montreal and knows how to install a floor?

We're moving offices at the end of this month, and we've got an opportunity to put a new floor in the new digs. So that we're living pimp style.

However, we can get an ultra cool floor if we do the work ourselves... problem is I have no idea how to do it.

Anyone here like a floor ninja?

I don't know a whole lot about flooring, but honestly, it can't be that hard.

What kind of floor is already there? Like carpet or tile or wood or what? I mean you could just really take the old one out and then see how it was installed and go from there or once you take it out, talk to home depot or something similar and ask them. It seems like floor work is all about just getting everything really prepared nice and clean though. What kind of floor do you want to install?

I don't know anything about it, but I helped my dad do it in our living room when I was like 14...it wasn't too hard. If you go to Home Depot they sell floor board pieces that piece together, like this

and all you have to do is cut them down, piece them together, and knock them into place.

I would have a pro do it. Last thing you want is a shitty floor. Waste of time and money, then when you figure out you did it wrong, you have to waste more time and money ripping it up and having someone who knows what they are doing come in to fix it.

I did one of those clip together floors with my pops too,  they're real easy. They are kinda tacky though, if you want something nice it's harder. Carpet usually comes with installation when you buy it.

Get some bamboo flooring, or cork flooring. Cork is pretty comfortable to walk around on, and you can get the pieces that slot together.

Use hay on cement.  its easy to clean up spills/puke with and will give the office a rustic feel.

laying floors its not hard but you should have someone that knows what they are doing

Yeah we're going to do one of those clip together floating floors. We priced out a professional, but its wicked expensive. My buddy has a buddy that does this shit too, so I think we're just going to get the best floor we can afford and do it ourselves. Probably be next week though, we're going to start likely on Wednesday, and then hopefully finish on the weekend as well as move in. We're going to tear down that wall at the back too - just go open for the whole thing. Should be sweet.

I'll let you know what kind of a crew we have together to do it, but if you found yourself in montreal next weekend I'm sure help wouldn't be declined. :)
