If this contest were actually about style, you could just send the whole Montage squad.

Unfortunately, it's just another spinny flippy contest that will be won by whoever lands their dub cork 12 cleanest; which is pretty much a coin flip at this point.

I was thinking the same thing. Definitely some of the better skiers out there. Chris has such killer style too, unfortunately, like said, KoS isn't really all about style, otherwise Montage would have no problems winning, haha. I too could watch this on repeat. I can';t wait to see the edits these guys put out. CA reppin'

Yea, there's a "style" hit, but the podium sure doesn't seem to reflect it. Casabon got 3rd, granted, but it's not like he beat out a bunch of big tricks on the strength of his blunted 9 being so stylish. If memory serves, a bunch of people crashed.

The point I was trying to make is simply that despite this contest's name, it's the same ole same ole.

All that aside, Logan is the deal, and I'd rather watch him carve into 5s than watch a scando gymnast do double spinny flippys.

I think living in Mammoth has a lot to do with it. There isn't really many other skier kids in Mammoth anymore, its crazy. Like a ghost town with perfect 40-80+ ft jumps.

sure, these big airs are mostly about big tricks, but at least they do have a mandatory style element which is about all you can ask for. it wouldn't really be feasible to have a competition based purely on style which is, by definition, subjective.

The snowboarders there are pretty ill though. Most seem open minded to skiing (unlike other places I've been).

There is definitely some snowboard talent in Mammoth. Lonnie obviously slays and there are a handful of others that respect skiers. Cornell, the only 6'6" black snowboarder, gives me shit all day for two planking. I have known him for 7 or 8 years, and I know he'll never respect skiing. People from southern CA don't even know that skiing exists, let alone is currently one upping snowboarding. Fuq it, Darkness' and Montage's shit is on another level.

I definitely agree. Utah kids get hyped real hard because Utah is like the North Shore of skiing. Everything revolves around here.

that switch misty was so sick. Kids got style no doubt. I think that doubles will be more important to most though so its going to be tough for kids like Logan to get in who don't have them..

Yea.. all the Montage love. NS is awesome.  But yeah lil CLo killed it last year, send him to norway.  Keep your eyes out for Montage this year.  We are going to be putting out some ridiculous footy. Sleds+new camera+ Montage Crew+ CA snowfall= Hot Fya.
