I thought I read somewhere that JO makes (or at least made, back in his glory days) $3mil/year from sponsorships/contracts/purses/etc, and that he was the highest paid skier of all time...? Apparently I'm misremembering though

Big Air Dave just signed a $75k contract with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police to do recruiting commercials, guest appearances, and BAD coffee mugs.

All this talk about how much money pro freeskiers make could change drastically, seeing how the Olympics is coming up. The guys that podium could possibly get the same attention that Phelps or Locte got for breaking all those records. Image seeing Torin, Dumont, Wallisch, Marg, Dorey, Woodsy etc. on a Subway commercial, or having a special on ESPN's 30 for 30 or E:60. The sport is going to become much more in the man stream, which in turn could possibly have some big payouts.
