I hate it when cts talk ahit about soccer, sure football players can make big hits, but althettically soccers players can run circles aound them. No other sport in the world can generate fans like soccer. Stadium Azteca in Mexico city is lterraly huge and no other sport can compare. I mean come on, how can a sport that was created off a bunch men kicking a decapatated head around on field not be hard core. SO next time you talk shit about the most popular sport in the WORLD, yes the WORLD try and back it up cause i guarntee you cant.

PS- I dont even play soccer but respect it. And im drunk so sorry about the typing errors if there are any.

it seems like everyone who went soccer to football must have played til 8th grade or something. True soccer at the appropriate level is quite physical. Holding onto a ball that is meant to be held while some huge guys try to grab you is a lot easier than keeping close control over a ball while someone is kicking at you, grabbing your shirt, and putting his body in the way of you.

i enjoy playing both, but when it comes to actual difficulty, soccer is ahead. All of my friends prefer to go out and play football because even a decent athlete can do alright in football, whereas soccer is just a disaster if you aren't in shape/good. You get exhausted, the ball goes flying everything, its just no good.

seriously, please stop talking shit and calling people who play fags, it's a somewhat brutal game at times and requires an incredible amount of awareness, skill, strength, and endurance. the only people who call it gay are people who've never played seriously so are therefore ignorant

As for Soccer, maybe if there wasn't so much overdramatic acting and fake diving people wouldn't call it a sport for pussies.

As for North American Football, well the rest of the world is still confused as to why you guys need so much padding to play rugby.

i play soccer at my school and personally i think i could do all the stuff you are doing. i could out run and probably make it through your practices. Most kids on a football team don't even play/ practice. 75% of the kids are just playing to be cool and will never touch the field. The other 25% play the whole game and are the actual athletes on the team. And i don't know why you think football is being criticized because soccer is torn apart in America by most people. they say all we do is run around and kick a ball when there is so much more than that. We play a game 90 minutes long with very little stoppage during play. You play for 15 seconds get a decently long break and then do it again. We run constantly off the ball looking for plays or openings in the field. I like football, i respect what kids go through lifting and such, i like the kids on my football team except for the stuck up cocky ones, but i'm just stating some facts. I also agree that these aren't really comparable but you can't make it sound like we're not athletic and can't do things that you could

that was stupid of me, neither of them are pointless obviously.....you're right, my opinion is completely wrong. i don't really feel the need to prove soccer is better, i just think you're an idiot...mainly for saying someone's opinion can be wrong, even if you were being "facetious" but i didn't really bring anything up about saying preseason is harder for soccer, i think it's way harder for football players because of all the padding. I don't get why you would even bring up preseason when i didn't say anything about it. But this time I will be more reasonable by saying that in my opinion soccer is a harder sport because all of the players on the field seem to have to be more well rounded. in football, if you play line, you don't have to be able to catch or run and if you play quarterback you don't have to know how to be a linebacker, while if you play D on a soccer team you may find yourself playing middy, and a middy may play striker. All i'm saying.

some people are such idiots. i have now been laying soccer for 12 years and in no way shape or form is soccer a pussy sport. football is sport and yes most of the players are very athletic but not like people who play soccer. football is a real sport and if u dont like it then ok, but dont call soccer a pussy sport cus there is a lot of contact and unlike football we only wear shinguards to protect ourselves. the people that are the most retarted are the people who have never played soccer pass 5th grade and talk shit about it. i like football and it is an athletic sport but cus it is more violent doesnt make it better.

Watching Soccer is like watching baseball; just watch the highlights because everything else is boring as fuck.  Soccer is more interesting when playing but no one can deny that it is really boring to watch.

Diving is the only thing i don't like about watching soccer. I guess you have to play it and be into it to watch a soccer match, otherwise you get bored to tears, and i feel the same way about football. I can only watch the first few and last few plays of each quarter because those are the only exciting ones for me.

On another note, i hate soccer vs. football threads with a passion. It really is comparing apples to oranges. I've played football, and i've played soccer, both at a high school level.  I'm not even going to try and argue that soccer is harder, because it's just not that simple.  Both sports have their high and low points.

The two sports are completely different i dont see how you can compare the two of them. personally, i play football and will in college. the game takes various kinds of athletes. linemen are bigger and stronger, running backs are smaller and fast, wide recievers are tall and fast. you could argue that football players could play soccer but some of them are more physically fit than others because thier posistion demands it. so obviously most 260 pound linemen wouldnt be able to handle the mount of running soccer players do. on the other hand a wide reciever or running back would be able to. one could also argue that football players are pussies because of the amount of pads they wear. soccer players wear next to nothing for padding so they are very vounerable(sp?) to knee or head injuries. from my icon you can also tell that i am a soccer fan. i feel as if it is one of the most exciting sports to watch. however, it will never be popular in the US because tv stations cannot sell advertisement during the game so the games dont get played. i enjoy both sports and dont think one is better than the other. people who dont see this have very defensive egos and will never accept anything other than what is theirs. so basically this arguement will never end.

yup. i still prefer the kiwis though, a have a lot of kiwi friends from rugby, and one married kiwi couple i know met playing naked rugby (pretty much the most badass thing ever). i've had all blacks players stay at my house when they were in country for tournaments /FUCKIN CLAIMIN THAT SHIT LIKE MAD.

Personally, I really dislike soccer. I find it boring as all FUCK to watch, and I always find that, especially here in WA and the US, that even my peers have to have such egos when playing with people who aren't such soccer enthusiasts. What always puts a bug up my ass is when soccerfans always try to make a point to persistently (in my experience) claim soccer as the best sport in the world, usually based on stuff already mentioned: it is the most popular sport in the world (ie the worlds game), it takes sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much athleticism (way more than whatever you like, obviously), amongst other reasons.

While I dislike the sport, while having some respect, I don't find a need to say it is worse than sport A because so and so. I'll say why I like sport A or dislike sport B (like the aforementioned reasons with soccer), but that's about it.

I play soccer and by now everyone at my school who plays football respects it because they realize it is a difficult sport. Watching someone play soccer makes you realize just how uncoordinated they are when it comes to foot eye coordination. anyone on my soccer team could play football (not kicker) but no one on the football team could play soccer. And by the way i think football is still a sick sport. They are different so everyone needs to stop choosing sides. Just accept they both are REAL sports

Kneeling the ball with 1:20 left in the game is gay too, yet it still happens because it is part of the strategy! There is an NFL rule where if a player is injured within the last 2 minutes of the game, their team loses a timeout. Wanna know why? Because players were faking injuries! The clock never stops in soccer, not when the ball goes out of bounds, not when the "play" is done.

The two games are completely different, but there is a reason why soccer is called "the beautiful game".
