i've lived in salt lake, vegas, newark, trenton, and philadelphia. by far philadelphia is my favorite east coast city on the planet, i was born and raised going to nyc, yankee games yadda yadda yadda but my recent expirences have shown me that phila is the dopest. the west coast is far superior in almost everyway, and Salt Lake City being my favorite city in the west, although the pacific northwest gives it a run for its money....
everything on the east coast is very fast paced and everybody just stays in their own little world and goes about there own business... it really lives up to all the stereotypes you would assume for east coast city life....
but suburban new jersey is nothing like what you think it is, plenty of farms and chill ass kids who like to smoke pot and play beer pong all night. the termanology is a bit differnt and sometimes i say things that make people say whaaaa???? my time in phila has me saying "no what im saying" and calling other kids "bull" but its a mix of bull and boy and if you didnt know it you would probably think i was just saying boy, not sure if thats just a north philly kensington thing cuz thats the only place i've stayed at.
if i had the money to live in an area other than kensington(was living there for ALL the wrong reasons) i would definately live in philadelphia, but as of now im using new jersey as a jump off until i can get back to the greatest city (im my humble opinion) Salt Lake... so that was more of a rant and barely touched basis on what you were even asking, but the answer was simple, the east coast is everything you think it is in the major cities, and absolutely the opposite of that in the suburban areas unless your in some areas of bergen where all the rich people live. but even that I just moved to Hunterdon County and apparently its supposed to be all "rich" bbut seems pretty normal to me.
Report from the maritimes: At the moment, it's raining cats and dogs, all live photosynthesizing plants are very green the temperature is about 20 degrees Celsius, over the last couple days it's been way too hot and muggy, with thunderstorms. The beaches are nice when it's sunny.
In a couple months, the leaves normally start to change colours and tourists flock to the maritimes and New England states to drive extremely slowly and take pictures of the leaves.
Around January, the east will start to get significant amounts of snow (1-3 feet in most places). In the Maritimes, skiers and snowboarders will flock to small, icy hills. The countryside will be filled with the echoes of two-stroke engines and the lingering scent of diesel. It will probably be a similar situation in the rest of the east, but the hills are larger. 'roundabout March everything will start to melt, and by April it will be a muddy, slushy mess with anything that has been near a public road saturated with salt.
I hope you feel at least somewhat enlightened by this description. Further questions are welcome. Feel free to PM me.

The south is not a bad place. We are known for our southern hospitality. Yeah, there are people down here that aren't the nicest, but overall we're polite and mind our manners. And those "southern belles" are not bad either.
And yes, we've got some pretty good damn pulled pork!
