ok, the reson nothing works on a mac is because they don't give the code out to have progams work on them. so no one knows the code to a mac you can't make a virus that will effect it, but that has nothing to do with hacking so apple never look in to sacurty (no way I spelled that right) for macs it will get better if this becomes a big problum.
sorry I can't spell to save my life
That's it. Back to the bomb-shelter for me.
Unfortunately I don’t see any evidence this site has given to prove this article. It would be as if I decided to write an article about how the Pentagon is easy to hack because I put the code into a process and I know exactly where it’s going to be. There’s no randomization. I know when I jump there, the code is there and I can execute it there.
Now I’m not saying this isn’t true, but I am saying that I have had experience in this area and there is nothing in this article compelling enough for me to feel proven wrong. I’d be curious to see how the author used his “exploitation,” what kind it was, and proof of its success. It sounds to me like this is a simple browser exploitation instead of a real virus. Something that anyone could do on any browser. I’d be curious to see how the author got his virus to bypass authorization, as in mac and linux, unlike windows, everything must be authorized before being run. I’m also baffled how he came to the conclusion that anything he threw in was instantly executable on a mac but not on a windows, as it is only in windows that things can be executed in that manner. Even if he managed to get it to run, which is possible, it would be disabled after rebooting the computer unless the user authorized it. Though there are ways to trick someone into doing this, it is by no means easier than on a windows.
In conclusion while creating a UNIX compatible virus isn’t impossible, it is monumentally more difficult than on a windows system. Anyone who honestly believes that out of the millions of people who own macs not one person has created a virus for it because it’s not popular, is not a very thoughtful person.
I just wanted to clear up any confusion. Anyone who is interested why macs actually don’t get viruses, I would recommend doing some research on UNIX kernal."
